I know of a 2006 QP being auctioned, under 2 hours to go and last bid was £20k yesterday. Description is "Maserati Quattroporte AB4 S-A 4244cc petrol 4 door saloon car, blue. Service book available". That's it. 36,000 miles. No opportunity to view the car before the auction ends, although I have seen the car a few times but not been in it. It was in its previous life a chauffeur driven company car.

I know what similar cars are offered for on here and autotrader, but do they sell? Worth bidding or leave well alone? Thinking of bidding to sell on, although if I ended up keeping it it wouldn't be the end of the world, I do need a family car - although this wasn't quite what I had in mind..

thanks!

15 mins left. Bid now 20,500 (plus 15% buyer fee + VAT on the fee makes it £25). May leave it though, tempting as it is I know nothing about Massers and insurance is 1k compared to £580 for a Jag XJR not to mention the servicing costs.

No, wasn't ebay, was webcastauctions.net. Sold for 22k + fees (so about 26k). Sounds about right considering limited scope for viewing the car, unknown service history (service book available it said, but no info other than that) and only 9 bidders and 11 in total watching it. Private sale price seems to be about 33k, so that's 7k to take on the risk of it being a lemon / needing a cambelt change etc.

Just checked that site and came up with this link. Looks like that and the MB's were repossesions/property of insolvent businesses. Seems a poor place to sell as who would know anything about it/them being available for sale?

From looking at the other cars going to auction I wouldn't say they are too tempting - an S500L with 56k miles with an unstampted service book eek
