I know that most people seem more concerned with the classic Lambos fitted with a V12. So the V8s have typically been ignored, which has been reflected in their prices. I know Jalpa prices have remained fairly static since the mid 90s, for example.

Whilst having a nosey on Car & Classic, it would seem that, at least the asking prices for the V8s have gone up:

White Urraco
Red Jalpa
Red Silhouette

I find it amazing that the Silouette is only 10K less than earlier G now. It would seem that as the top end goes up, the bottom of the top end gets dragged up too.

The asking prices have gone up, but these cars which have been for sale for quite a while are still available.
I really like the 3 litre Urraco and the Silhouette; I think they're fantastic, great cars, but unfortunately they are still tarnished with all the problems of the dreadful "runt of the litter" P250.
As I've said before a very good 3 litre should be around £22K, and a very good Silhouette around £25K, with the P250 and the Jalpa maybe £10K behind. £39K for a Silhouette is crazy.
The fact that there are only 31 silhouettes left in the world should mean that values should be higher, if rarity was a factor in car prices, and its strange that they're not. The only possible reason can be that stated above.
The problem with the Jalpa is that it is heavier, slower, and uglier than the car it replaced and values will always reflect this.
But then again perhaps the real reason is the snobby mis-guided opinion that a real Lamborghini must be a V12, it could be as simple as that

See Nick you are missing the point we are trying to get the smallier Lambo's price's up and how can we do that if you keep slagging the market down. You should be helping to the price's up seeing that YOU HAVE NUMBER 1 of the silhouette's and i still think you are wrong and 250 being runt of the litter if you bring your car to an event i can tell you now my little urraco would shout your car in to the next county

I think the point is that they will never command high prices because of some of the points I've made. My personal opinions will not influence the market one iota.
Unfortunately that's just a fact with the V8's, the market just doesn't seem to like them very much, I think they're in the same position as the Ferrari 308GT4 is in the Ferrari market.
A bit of a general statement to say that when you haven't seen any of my cars.
By the way, if that's Leslie, glad you're feeling better.

Leslie,
I forgot that you recently got offered £35K for your Urraco, so the market for V8's must be extremely buoyant, and doesn't need to be talked up.

HI Nick

Thank you for wishing Leslie better.

Right I really don't see how you can say that when you have not even seen Leslie's Urraco also he has been offered £35.000.00 from 2 different people for her in the past 2 weeks which he declided as he loves her to much.

We cannot comment on your cars as you never bring them to any events and you have also told me in the past you have never washed any of your cars since the first day you had them that is why you cannot get a good price for yours.

Hi Lorraine,
The point is that the V8 market must be very healthy if these sorts of prices are being talked about. Therefore the market doesn't need to be talked up.
I never ever wash cars that's true, but that has nothing to do whatsoever with car prices. I was unlucky enough to buy a car at the top of the market and have now taken a big hit, albeit smaller than previously thought on it. That car was mint.
The silhouette is mint, but it is always dirty because I drive it how it should be driven.
I'm not going to spend hours getting the flies and st off it. I'm not one of those people who drives a car for 2 hours then washes it for 4. It's only a car

Hi Nick

If it is only a car then why are you bothered about the prices after all the car cannot be in mint condition of there are fly etc all over it can it? I agree the cars have to be driven and not locked away BUT have to be looked after the same as we do.

Hi Lorraine,
The prices aren't important to me as I have enough money not to be bothered by it. These are merely my personal opinions on the current market as I see it and I am trying to be pragmatic and to invite debate.
I thought this was a democratic society, and it would be nice to voice an opinion once in a while without people jumping on me and acting as if I have insulted their families.
Whether it be about the bottom end Lamborghinis or the quality of the club, the aggressive nature of all responses to my opinion beggars belief, especially when privately members of the club actually agree with me on certain matters.

Hi Nick

All you seem to do is tell me/everyone how much money you have and are not bothered by the Lamborghini prices so what is the problem????

You are no longer a club member! If other member agree privatly on certain matters it is then there option to speak out at the AGM don't you agree?
