I had a sniff up Snetterton last Friday and asked the guy to do a sound test on the Murci
He said yes, so I fired it up and he wanted me to take it to 6k rpm, I got to 4k rpm and the guy started to wave his arms about saying I can't take no more and forget doing a trackday !!!!
The result
128db at 4k rpm !!!!!
wonder what it would have reached at the 6k rpm

Cool.... i think the dB status of tracks is a joke ..... a food blender has a 90 dB reading for goodness sake...how a 5litre v10 can run that low is a joke...
don't think ill get on with this now either ...only scraped on at goodwood last year before the sound improvement '

depends on the track, i have only been on one so-called track at bruntingthorpe, there quite friendly it seems. "ok hold it on 4k" - no one looking i put it on 2k he he he, she then just said "well the db meters on the track are there so when you go past drop the revs down a bit then your good to go again"
but 98db on a track is a joke, especially my local at donnington as im sure the airport is louder lol

Hahaha!
*Serious moment: Though dB is logarithmic and doubles for every 3db increase - So a 10db increase from 90 to 100 means it's actually around *8* times louder

However at 124dB we'd be talking over 2000 times louder! LOL

If you're thinking trackdays, can I kindly suggest you steer well clear or any MSV circuit, in particular the Autodrome. For instance, the locals in Thurleigh will probably chase you with blazing torches should you go within 2 miles of their little village.
Oh, and from now on, I firmly believe it should be mandatory to youtube any DB tests

"Loud pipes save lives"
Its a fact!
After years of the hippy campaigners and moaning old farts, complaining about noise pollution - Electric cars will see a rise in accidents along the lines of "I didnt hear it coming"
"Do the right thing - fit straight through pipes"
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
