presumably these are brembos ?

they look suspiciously similar to Porsche 968 calipers with the fronts having slightly larger pistons. They even have the same embossing on them with the bidirectional arrow etc..

does anyone know the exact spec and were they painted black as standard from the factory ?

cheers

R

They are Brembos mate. Its even embossed on the rear of the caliper. Yes they are all factory painted black, apart from the Special Edition 355 Fioranos which are red with drilled disks.

Rich

the specs were different to the Porsche calipers eg the Ferrari used an alloy piston where the Porsche is Steel and I believe the seals were different too I had mine refinished in Red by QV in Ascot, looked fantastic

It is clear that the 355 calipers have other uses on other models of cars. On the 355 there are spacer shims in between the caliper and the bolt holes. So i to wonder what other cars they fit as standard.

Red calipers were also a factory option.

pretty certain the rear is the same body as the porsche 968
as mark says maybe with different pistons/seals
same disk size as well 300mm X 28mm:

The F355 front just looks the same but slightly bloated in size to accomodate bigger pistons. This would be consistent with the 964 fronts which again, has a wider bulge where the pictons are.

Calipers on the F355 are the same as "Big Red" 964 Turbo calipers (or at least the refurb kit is)

Ok I cant see how that can be right though. Maybe that is an upgrade because 965 and 993TT calipers are physically much bigger than what is fitted to a 355 stock and do not have the same design and embossing and also disks size is 322mm x 32mm..... significantly bigger than 300mm X 28mm.
