I have just had Larini back boxes fitted to my Mas 4200. Has anyone else here had this done?

The reason I ask is that now my car is really loud, I mean REALLY loud.

I am not sure what to think yet, everytime I drive by my neighbours car I set their car alarm off.

Dont get me wrong it sounds (to me) fantastic, but my concern is, does everybody else I drive past think I am a Chav C*ck! having such a loud car!
Do I put my origional box's back on.
Any opionions or points of view would be great! How loud is your car?

Cheers

Peter

I wouldnt worry about it and keep setting those car alarms off biggrin . The Maser V8 sound when unleashed by a performance exhaust is one of the best automotive sound tracks out there.... bar none!

Got them on my 575 and I've had a few alarms go off in protest too.
I love the noise and have only had positive reactions so far...There's enough depressing news out there - enjoy it, anyone with petrol in their veins will be happy to see (and hear) you go past wink

totally understand.. i have tubi on my 550 and i am the pariah of my street., i wake up at 6.0am to go to work and it drives the neighbours mad...

so to combat the problem i am putting stebro exhaust combined with quiksilver pipes... louder and more ferocious..far more f1... (neigbours i promise to try and use the car less)

I had Larini back boxes fitted to my 4200 just over a year ago. I know what you mean, they are indeed very loud smile Apart from the awesome sound, they completely transform the feel of the car, too.

As for perceptions, with the OEM boxes you noticed pedestrians doing a double-take after you passed them; with the Larini's they 'notice' you long before they even see you!

Personally I think they enhance the incredible V8 sound, and I've had nothing but positive reactions. Once you get them coked up a bit you should notice the in car 'boom' subsides beyond 3000 rpm, so once you're motorway cruising they don't impact your comfort inside at all.

Stick with them - they're one of the best enhancements you can make!

Having used Capristo, Tubi and Larini in the past this is the high-pitched 'Supercar Sound' they give you. It's what I want from my cars, and it's what they give. And I for one wouldn't want it any other way! If I wanted a Jaguar, I would have bought one wink If someone thinks you are a c@ck it's beacause they are jealous you are driving an Itailan Supercar, and that people 'like us' should be seen and not heard. Sorry, I don't see it like that. An Italian car should stir the emotions, and hence an elite sports exhaust is a must for me, and many of my fellow p'hers.

I am gonna keep them! I went out for a couple of hours today and I got some good responses from people, mainly kids giving the thumbs up. I only got one w@nker gesture from a white van man. The exceleration seems to have improved alot in the higher revs too. I managed to hit 130 (KPH of course) on the massivly long (and empty) slip road going from the M27 to whiteley today, and the sound was superb!

Go into a multistorey car park and let rip, then you get a load of alarms going offsmile

I actually did that on Saturday in the NCP in Southampton. Was kinda embarrassing but fun at the same time. I got some really evil looks!
