I just watched a clip from Classic Gear, they were testing a 355 and the guy said that when cold you have to pull away in 2nd rather t5han 1st, is that true?

Thanks

Surely this would strain a cold clutch and engine more than just pulling away in first confused

Never heard of it before.

No.

He was probably getting confused with older Ferraris 348 and prior that can be stiff to get into second until the gearbox oil has warmed up.

F355 doesn't suffer as much.

Nordoes a 355 need servicing every 6 months like he said in the eposode. And if that front bumper is in its original condition without paint, like he also said.....Then i will eat my hat biggrin

Indeed!

2nd in mine is a bit stiff until the box is hot (oo er) but then its all good. First to 3rd when cold works fine.

And my front bumper is a dog's breakfast, thanks to speedbumps and road rash. Also maanged to finally wear through the fibreglass on the front corner dropping into Karusel.. biggrin

Oh well, nothing some matting and epoxy can't fix...

My 355 was a pig going into 2nd when cold! As mentioned already, 1st to 3rd is the way to go until the gearbox oil was warmed-up a bit.

And besides, I like the sort of quirk of avoiding 2nd until hot...
More so than others, like the window opening time being measured in arhcaeological terms... biggrin
