Orange Diablo 6.0 seen today at Stoneleigh Park - 02 plated
Discussion
Hi there,
I was photographing classic rallying today at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire at the Race Retro show.
I spotted this car from quite a way and thought that it was a kit car to be honest. Only because they usually have a pretty big kit car display at this show.
The tax disc stated 'Lamborghini' and the car was wearing a 'Top Gear' cars (Lamborghini specialists) window sticker and 'Top Gear' number plates this is probably a surefire sign that its original.
Had a closer look and got loads of shots as you would expect, the thing that suprised me about this car was that it is registered on a '02' plate which must surely make it one of the last.
Car was absolutely stunning, quite liked it without the wing as well.

Anyone know anything about this car as I don't ever recall seeing it before.
Regards
Tim

That's 100% a full-on, very real 6.0!!!
It was sold to the current owner by the might CMcC @ TopGear in (I think) '04 - he brought the car and his son to a Club meet in Lancashire in August '04 amongst quite a lot of other events... actually, as it's not been seen for a while, it might have another owner now - that's 5 years ago, after all!
Haven't seen the car for a while anyway, lovely thing tho' innit?
The organisers at Stoneleigh contacted LCUK and asked if we'd like to do a display as they'd had a cancellation or two...
Sadly, they contacted us less than 8 days ago and sometimes, just sometimes there's impossible things we are asked to do and then there's extremely impossible things we are asked to do and then there's 'youmustbefekkin'joking' things we're asked for as well. You can take your pick as to which applies here, but it's the last of the three reasons for sure!
We did say we'd go in 2010 - especially if they book bright, Spring sunshine again!
wot the 'ell am I doing on PistonHeads at this time of a Saturday evening?

what is the differance between the SE and the VT is it mechanical or trim or ....?
It's basically trim and details - they were supposed to be all gold or brown but I think (?) three of the 42 were in other colours. Lamborghini Registry said:
2001 Diablo VT 6.0 SE (42 built)
A special edition of the succesful Diablo 6.0 has been prepared and was presented to the public at the 2001 Geneva Motorshow on 3 Mar 2001.
The aim of this special version is to emphasise some of the characteristics of the Lamborghini Diablo offering extreme performance in a comfort package and two exclusive colors: Oro Elios (Gold) and Marrone Eklipsis (Brown), showing the two opposites of Life.
The interior upholstery, seats and dashboard, are colour co-ordinated to the colour of the body and the seats have a special trim.
Comfort in enhanced by an electric seat adjustment as well as by the state-of-the-art Alpine audio system integrating a pan-European navigation system. The same integrated system is available for the US market.
All the exterior and interior details are in visible carbon fibre and have been made with a special titanium thread, thus giving the car more of a shine.
All the metal details of the cockpit have a titanium finish.
The gear lever knob and grid are made of titanium, a very technical material. The intake manifolds and the cylinder-head covers have been made in magnesium in order to emphasise the technological aspect of the engine and to save weight, whereas the brake calipers are now customised with the Lamborghini logo.
To offer the drivers of the Diablo 6.0 SE the best, in terms of acceleration, these models are equiped with a short gear ratio.
The owners of a Lamborghini Diablo SE will be proud of owning such a car, celebrating the entry of the Diablo in the new Millenium.
Technical specifications are identical to the ones of the Diablo 6.0.

Just a magnificient looking car. I agree that the car looks SO much more the business WITHOUT the wing.

Afraid I disagree I have seen how much the carbon rear wing cost and mine has one fitted so the Diablo 6 Litre looks the real deal with one. If you can't have what you like like what you have!! Seriously though I do feel the car looks more balanced with it, seems to offer a touch more height off- setting the frankly obscene girth!!! david s

I thought there were only 3 orange 6's - Jan's, Tony's and Funky's?
