Ferrari gearbox? F1 to manual?
Discussion
I know this is a strange question but does anyone know if it would be possible to take a F355 with the F1 gearbox and swap it to a manual and if it is would it be possible to do for less than £20 billion?
I know this is a drastic measure, but I'm still looking for a F355 Berlinetta and just not having much luck. These just isn't any great examples out there. Fell free to let me know if any are coming up for sale thanks.
Thanks

This crops up a lot on the BMW forum (converting SMG to manual). Suffice to say, it costs a fortune on the BMW (having had a few mates do it). I suspect on the Ferrari, it will be prohibitive. Costs likely to include:
New gearbox (I know its technically the same, but little things like different selector fork setup make it impossible on the Beemer, which have the same box)
Clutch pedal assembly, including all the hydraulic lines, pedal box etc
New wiring loom and associated ECU's
Plus Christ knows how many hours labour.
Just buy a manual.

We've done this as an exercise with Shiltech, Same G/Box, reasonably straight forward, need linkage, Lever etc and trim parts, cost should easily be paid for by selling off the F1 parts on Ebay! - however you will lose originality factor.
