Trying to get track day insurance for my Audi R8, but because of its value (£60k) i'm struggling to get any of the normal brokers (HIC, Keith Michaels, etc.) to quote, so I thought i's pop in here and try and find our what you boys do?

After a lot of pressure my insurer eventually covered one track day for £180 and £7.5k excess for a 360. Some throw this in with the annual policy, unfortunately NU didnt. This stunt convinced me to renew elsewhere.

My old man is an MD at an Insurance broker, he's currently negotiating some terms on providing Trackday insurance but should be able to provide more details soon.

He's basically outlined that at the moment the policy would be personal cover only for damage to your own car, regardless of fault.

Excess would be around 10% of the vehicle value, with the premium being competitive.

Drop me a PM and i'll forward his e-mail addy if you like..

Regards,

Josh

Unfortunately they can't quote as I do over 5k miles per year.

I thought when I took out my policy I had mileage options up to 6k!
Try AON they include track day cover in the policy.

Yep, they do upto 6k. The differential between 5k and 6k is quite large, although you can simply buy 5k and sort of pay-as-you-go for any excess mileage you do between 5k and 6k.

Try Hagerty insurance Silverstone, best insurer I have ever used and they normally cover each track day at a cost of 10% of the anual insurance premium. So my Ultima CanAm premium at £500 per anum would have a days track cover at £50.

The cover provided was equivilent to the standard road cover so very comprehensive.

Tell em Barry gave you the details.

Good Luck
