Can I afford a Gallardo?
Discussion
I have allways wanted a Lambo, and now see that they are within my reach budget wise.
Its the maintenance costs that I am unsure of. If I had a decent warranty, is £8k a year about right? or am I dreaming?
I need to build up a good set of reasons as to why I need a Gallardo, to pursuade my wife to let me!

How many miles are you planning?!
Well, thats the question. I allways buy cars intending not to put many miles on them. When I got my currant 4200 for example I put somthing like 3000 miles on it within the first couple of months! I dont have any self control! How many miles are you planning?!

Well I've got an older car which you would expect to cost more in annual maintenance, and I don't spend that much. Go for it I say. If it proves too much, you can always sell it, but if you don't, you will always be wondering 'what if'!
My major problem is my wife. The last couple of cars I had, I kept for just a year and lost about £15k a go in depreciation. So I am thinking, if I were to get a Gallardo, intending to keep it for several years (as where would I go from there!?), I would be saving £15k a year on depreciation, and only spending a few grand on maintenance! So saving money! Well thats my argument with my wife anyway! Thanks for all your responses. I have never really looked into this until now. I had thaught that it would cost mega bucks to keep one on the road. It doesnt seem to be much more expensive than my 4200. Now I am gonna have to do a lot of work to convince my wife. I think its gonna be several months away, but I may start looking.

Servicing should be average of about £2K per year if you do upto 7500 miles. The smallest annual service is £900 all in.
Clutches should last 20K km + but cost £3.5K at a dealer.
Do it you'll never look back!
Thats a hell of a lot less than I was expecting! Clutches should last 20K km + but cost £3.5K at a dealer.
Do it you'll never look back!
