Countach prices
Discussion
What's going on with Countach prices at the moment. Everything is £90k suddenly. I can remember not long ago you could get a very good one for £45k.
Testarossas are well under £40 now. In fact, there's one with under 30k miles on it for £29k.
Fair play to anyone who has a Countach but really there's supposed to be a serious global recession going on?!

I wouldn't expect a GOOD Testarossa for that sort of money - they have seen a bit of a resurgence in values as people are discovering their iconic nature.
Countach... 45k ...sh|tter!
Shame - cos I'd love one!
Decent Anniversaries seem to be 60-80k depending on their level of minty freshness and 88.5's seem to be commanding 90-100k. LP400's and you're looking at a blank cheque! 150k?

Well, you might find one @ that price... there's one of the first UK LP400s around that's about that amount but which needs a lot more spending than that to make it a useable car once again and you'd have to buy an Anniversary with it as well... (best not to ask, it makes sense to the owner of both the cars)......and exactly what 'global recession' should be considered or discussed and how is that in the least relevant to sales of high-art Lamborghinis?

I've no idea why I'm posting this picture, I really haven't...

No, the prices! A good Countach was £45k when this thread started!
It looks so obvious now that they were going to rocket.
Don't worry too much, I've had several opportunities to buy a Countach at well below £40K, namely in 1997 and 2004 (I think). It looks so obvious now that they were going to rocket.
Unfortunately you need to have minimal borrowings, a low mortgage, and plenty of cash in hand when a hard recession hits, in order to survive the recession, and to be able to pick up the bargains as and when they are repossessed by the finance companies.
Just be patient, boom and bust will save the day...

Ah. You mean like the ex Jamiroquai car that I was told could be bought for £39k? Or David Cooke's black Anniversario where I was nervous about adding a grand to my £44k offer or the red/red 5000s that I ducked out of at £45k a year later because I'd been told it'd once been on its roof?..
Hindsight eh?
But tbh the only one I'd be happy with would be the LP400 and that came up a couple of years too early.
I could be wrong, but I think the car in the pic is the one sold by RM at their Bond auction some years ago in London. The car sold for around £200k iirc and had had a godawful repaint. But when it popped up at GFoS several years later it looked beautiful.

not convinced they will ever be cheap again sadly...
until petrol runs out.. .
but the newer generation stuff like 911 gt3 rs, gallardos etc will be the cars that can be picked up for the sort of money talked about above when the next recession hits as flash harrys that have over extended themselves have to sell.
