Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the electric motor stroke on 328 head lights? With the tie rod rod that allows position adjustment it seems that if they are adjusted to close flush with the wings, when they are up they seem to sit too high. Or is this how they are?

Hi Freddie,
When they are up the base of the light should be about flush with the nose cone surround, focus on getting the closed level right first!

Thanks Ferrari V8
Trouble is when i do that they dont sit flush when down. They both sit lower than the wing by a few mm. When i look at other 328's the lights all seem to sit flush.

Pretty sure there's an adjustable stop for up and down isn't there?

From Ferrarichat

the whole pod is fully adjustable.

The pod throw is adjustable by moving the connection position of the lifter rod...where it bolts to the pod...17mm spanner if I remember correctly, and move the bolt up and down the slot, nearer or further from the pivot, until happy.

Then the "at rest" height is adjustable on the rod between the motor and the lift rod....10mm spanner with double ended thread rod.

When correct...the pod will sit perfectly flush when up AND down, the beam aim is set using a beam setter, or some chalk marks on a good wall.

MIND YOUR FINGERS....the motor will go off on a cycle if you turn the motor top screw...so disconnect the battery and move it manually while doing the adjustment.

It will cut your finger off without so much as a hiccup if you get it wrong.

It can easily absorb 2-3 hrs per side, so be patient.

Make sure you kill the battery! its a must. its also an awkward job so try the first option before go to too much trouble, why are they out anyway? - feel free to give us a buzz if you would like to talk it through.

Thanks guys
I'll have a go at that, remembering to disconnect the battery.
I'm not sure why they are out of adjustment but both seem to be out by the same amount. I will need to shorten the motor stroke by about 5 mm.
