Anyone used PCMSCAN or Elmscan 5, both seem to be good but does one out perform the other? (for use with gallardo)

I would try on ferrarichat.com (there is a lambo section and people with Lambos on there).

There will be folk there more familiar with ripping OBD codes than your average PH user ;-)

P.S. isn't ODB a guy from the Wu Tan Clan?

As the electronics in a newish lambo are all designed by VAG try using a copy of vag-com, should allow you to do 90% of the bits you'd want to (havent used it on a lambo, but know it can be made to work on a bentley!) if it doesnt cover what you want try one of these http://www.nicksforzaferrari.com/forzaferrariwebsi...

Simon, just noticed your in Chestire, if you can get down the m56 to Brimstage, would be happy for you to give VAG-COM a try

You can buy the offical Lambo kit from http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/qx/lamborghini-to...

$21,000!

Not sure if this would help a Audi - Lambo adapter http://www.lambostuff.com/product.asp?prid=24679

A little more investigation requried I think ..

My guess is that the adapter and the vast majority of the kit is to allow connection to earlier cars (same as BMW, Porsche, Maserati & Ferrari)

Does yours have a standard OBD2 port? if you dont need a lambo - audi adapter, then surely that would mean that the standard VAG / Audi diagnostics will work for the vast majority of functions, OBD/Can bus solutions are standardised to a large extent. similar thinking to CISCO IOS, a standardised language that can be used on multiple same manufacturer platforms yet allows configs that can be customised to add different functionality

Given some of the smells that come from my car after a half-hour or so in slow traffic, I'd be interested in anything that could get the clutch wear reading out of the e-gear CAN module.

The ODB-II command set is meant to be 'standard' (although it appears there are different underlying electrical connection protocols used as alternatives to ISO 9141 by some manufacturers). However, one man's ODB-II does not seem to be the same as another's: the RAC Prestige(!) man that Lambo Assist sent me when my Gallardo threw an ODB check had Bentley logo'd software on his lap-top that interpreted the stored fault on my car as a misfire on cylinder 11.
