Am away on a big road trip with 6 cars, one's a 355 F1. Mate has been having clutch probs, some slippage altho clutch not worn. Went for somethng called Octopus Reset - I think - but it's now in limp home mode, seems to only select first and second gear but can somehow get into 6th with some frigging. Anyone know anything we can do to get the limp home light off and carry on as he was? Thanks.

Has he tried turning the battery of and then on 10 minutes later to reset the cars ECUs? This may and somtimes works on the 355 F1s.

Make sure you let it idle for at least 10 minutes with all the electrics off, windows up, a/c off etc. Do not just drive it after resetting the battery otherwise the fueling will be off.

Strange - my 156 Selespeed did something similar yesterday.

If the thing with the battery doesn't work - does anyone have an OBD lead and laptop with them? - I managed to get the 156 working again by resetting the main ECU back to default, clearing fault codes, and running the Selespeed through the calibration procedure.

I know the 156 isn't even closely related to the 355 F1, but the gearchange systems are kind of related, so may well give the same issues.

Whereabouts in Switzerland are you? There is an excellent Ferrari/Maserati dealer in Basel (Niki Hasler AG, Hardstrasse, Basel). Very friendly, the guy I have spoken to on a number of occasions, Matthias, spoke perfect english too. They might be able to help with a reset.
