Retrofitting reverse camera on a Gallardo

hi. I test drove a spyder today. unluckily the car does not have reverse camera or any parking sensors.. does anyone know if they can be retrofitted? Are parking sensors an option or is reverse camera the only aid? I will be driving in London and I have a tight garage so this is a must..

You could do it yourself if you are half decent with wiring. Just takes a bit of time to get it all done neatly

No option for parking sensors to my knowledge. I have the camera on mine and tbh I don't tend to pay too much attention to it. When I stick it in the garage I have a mark on the side wall that I look to as an indicator that I'm in the right spot.

The cars can get pretty hot at the back end so I'd suggest you want a good foot or so of clear space behind the car so as to avoid any light cluster melting incidents.

a mark on the garage wall plus a large piece of wood behind the rear tyre as a last resort works for me

I didn't have a camera on my Spyder, don't have one on my SL, do have one on my LP560. Hardly ever use the camera, it is fish eye and rubbish IMO

I have fitted a Kenwood camera to my Gallardo works fine it is nice and small i think it is the same as the one they fit to Range Rovers.

thank you for all the responses. I assume reverse camera connecting to the display does not affect the warranty on the car. I intend to ask lambo London to do the retrofitting.

Also I have been told the rear parking sensors are not a good fit as the beep is the same beep of the reverse gear.

Hi...

No factory option for Park Sensors. They can be retro-fitted but look ugly.

Would suggest you get a camera fitted by an aftermarket installer as the dealer will want a fortune - trust me I am one! Auto Audio in London can do it as per factory (blended into spoiler etc) for £1500 + VAT which is very good value.
