They've loaded the Veyron on the flatbed the wrong way around. They should know that you reverse a mid-engined car onto a trailer.

What an American would know what end is what? You met any Americans? Sure Jay told me that the gold Veyron went bang on the second day. May have got it wrong.

That's a truck, not a trailer.

Sorry..... what are you talking about? Dont you think that the owner for one would have screamed and shouted to load it accordingly? Mid engine cars CAN be loaded this way if all safety precautions are taken. Most have towing hooks located at the front for this reason which is bolted directly to the front part of chassis for safe winching. Now if a Veyron says in the instruction manual not to be loaded this way ill eat my words, just surprised by this comment.

There's no need for the rolly-eyes..

I understood it was standard practice to load a mid-engined car backwards for purposes of weight distribution on the back of the truck or trailer towing it. A front-engined car would face forwards.

I may be wrong, but this was what I was understood to be true.

No chance! If you done that to my TR and many other For L cars the nose would scrap bigtime before it even got halfway on. Pulling from he front is easier.

My mid-engined cars have been on flatbeds on many occasions - only once did one ever go on backwards!

I can see where you're coming from, I just suspect it's not that vital.

Getting carried away in the moment i suppose. Roads could have seemed empty so the pedal went down, who knows but the police certainly shafted them, truncheons and all.

Sorry I didnt mean to come across harsh its not in my nature... Ive had many cars on trailers loaded by the best in the business. Load em how you like, just tie em down safe so no movement and all good thumbup Im like the chap above unless the flatbed comes right off and flat on ground I can load mine backwards but otherwsie at <8 deg angle clearance its not going to happen. Front way only with lots of extra loading blocks, I find this very stressful loading and unloading my cars.

Don't know about going pop but I read they both had overheating trouble in traffic. Also at least one of the Mercedes/Mclaren broke down... again.
Funnily enough I haven't read anything on the SSC Ultimate Aero having any trouble. smile

Loading a heavy car on a light trailer and weight distribution matters. On a lorry weighing 7 tonnes and capable of carrying 4 or 5 tonnes not a problem either way.
