My Gallardo is due a major service, and I know it's been discussed before, but before I part with £2000+ of my very hard earned cash, could someone in the know please tell me who out of the above three Lambo garages I should trust (...or avoid!).

Cheers!

Try Grimaldi engineering - cheaper and better imo!
Hope this helps

Post this on Lambopower.com aswell there's some uk owners there.

If you go Indy for any work I can highly recommend Verdi, who also do fixed price servicing.

If you want to part with hard earned cash for jobs that haven't been done then I would avoid two of your 3 choices

Bear in mind that for the most part, as long as no problems are found; a service doesn't mean much more than ~£150 worth of an oil change and £70 worth of new spark plugs! (plus labour)

I don't know about you but I wouldn't pay £2000 for that!

Roberto at Grimaldi has always come across as very straight and both he and Mike Pullen have talked themselves out of jobs with me in the past (ie by telling me how to remedy the situation myself!)

I would love to take my G to Grimaldi, but am worried about how much harder it makes the car to sell. The number of prospective buyers is small, i don't want to reduce that further by a lack of main dealer stamps. Having said that, having met him, Roberto would probably do a better and cheaper job that a main dealer.

Anone else got a view on non-dealer service history when it comes to selling?

Took mine to millbrooke cars in sheffield for a major service mine had full main dealer service history but there is no way i was going to pay the main dealer prices it was a long way to take the car but it was well worth it millbrooke used all lamborghini parts and oil but i still had £1000 pound left in my pocket after taking the car up to sheffield i would have not if i had taken it to a main dealer the choice is yours confused

Yes Jules it was a major plus
2 wheel refurbs
new pair of wiperblades (Genuine lambo ones)
Mot
£1650 Total (paid cash) but was under £2000 if i hadn't

They have one person there that worked at Graypaul (Ferrari/Mass)
2 worked at Porsche (Sheffield)
1 worked at Lamborghini in the (US)

My car came back like new the engine bay was cleaner than when i bought the car i won't be taking it anywhere else from now on.
They had a lot of Ferrari's in for work.
They also could have collected my car from me in Wiltshire to Sheffield for £250 by transporter i drove up so i could see the workshop and meet the people.

I would add that Mr A has been telling to go to Grimaldi for months. I went to one listed and I ....think....I've just been fked over for a new front PU when I got a S/H one bodged and respayed.

Listen to the big Mr A chaps......He'll love thatbiggrinbiggrin

For the 12 mths that i had my G i always had a good experience with Lambo London (and i spent quite some time in there!!!), official dealer prices yes but you get the correct stamp and they always helped me do the right thing and sqeezed everything through on warranty that they could for me.

Speak to Sean or Barry

Thanks for all your help guys - much appreciated.

I'm leaning towards one of the independants - Grimaldi or Verdi. Will let you know how I get on
(hopefully the lack of an official Lambo stamp isn't such a huge thing... right?)

I would not consider a non Lambo Service Centre Authorised Stamp in the service book. Just my viewpoint

I have always took my cars to main dealers to get the stamp Porsche, Ferrari, Bmw i bought my 360 from Nick Cartwright he put me in touch with Zero One Cars in Nottingham they send most of there stuff to Millbrooke so that was good enough for me time will tell if not having a dealer stamp in the book wiil effect the resale price but my car is a 2004 04 so it is out of dealer warranty anyway. If it was newer then i might go main dealer the choice is yours best of luck with your choice.

i agree with you...in the porsche world some indipendents have imo a better reputation than main dealers ,especially for older cars...
