Hi all,
can anyone provide some advice and help me with the following :-

- recommend a ferrari freindly MOT station for a 308 (close to Hemel Hempstead if possible) and a good independent for sevricing (someone you can trust and knows what they are doing).

- also, where is the best place to source a new battery for a 2007 430 (looks like the current battery is on its lasts legs)- without paying main dealer prices !!

Thanks

Geoff

Hi folks - how about any recomendations for servicing and MOT in Hertfordshire for the 308. (anywhere except a well known specialist in Watford)

Does anyone know if there is anything special about the battery in the 430 and can they be sourched outside the Ferrari dealer network.

Thanks
Geoff

Mate you are best posting your question on a focused Ferrari forum. Try either http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk/forum/ which is a UK based forum, or www.ferrarichat.com which is a yank based forum with a UK section.
At times getting answers on here is like passing gallstones wink;)

No mate its not, its more of a banter/BS forum.
The serious Ferrari owners/discussion are to be found on the links i provided.
The lack of response to your enquiry/question on here says it all. I guarantee you that once the same question is posted on Clubscud, it will take minutes for the responses to come rolling in.
CS may be run by a bunch of dicks (as is FC to), but there is a wealth of information available from the enthusiastic members. wink

GTO Engineering in Berks would be a good place to start smile

Costco for the battery (bosch silver top approx £55)

also try Colin Clarke in Abbots Langley about 5 minutes form you. You will have to book in for him. He does specialise in old Lambos, but does Ferrari too and knows his stuff inside out. He is exceptionaly blunt about cars so if you are the precious type may want to try elsewhere! he is at the bottom of Tibshill road near the roundabout on the left as you go down. Entrance is between two houses adn is very difficult to find. left him my 328 to sort camber and castor on.

Otherwise the best and most knowlegable guy have come accross is Mike Lester at Rardley in Hindehead. Is 80 miles form you, but frankly if you wnat the best, he is it. Knows all older cars and can give wire by nut by screw directions over the phone from memeory. Set up my 308 GT4 for me and the car was absolutley exceptional!
