One of the reasons I moved to an Audi R8. The lambo is a bank balance nightmare. In 6 mths the Gallardo cost me over £5000. The R8 I have had for 2 years now has cost me nothing.
And as it happens the R8 is more fun, and gets more looks.
I hope all the posts are as helpful as this one..And as it happens the R8 is more fun, and gets more looks.

No help from me, but I hope its a simple thing, I followed your thread closely. Good luck

When I sold the Gallardo, the buying insisted on taking it to Lambo Birmingham to have its ECU checked. Over 1,700 faults showed up. Great! Just what you need when trying to sell a car.
A Gallardo is a stunning looking car, but has so many foible's its a owners nightmare. I've been through Porsche 911's, Ferraris (355, 360's) and never had anything that cost me so much in terms of servicing. To get an extended warranty cost me nearly £2000 just for checking it over to make sure it was worthy. As a constant BMW owner also this was rediculous and insulting.
My theory is, Gallardo owenrs have never driven an R8, or if they have they are blinkered. Make no doubt, the R8 excells in every respect now the V10 version is out.

did these four "failures" occur simultaneously ?
did they occur on start-up or whilst running ?
is the spoiler actually moving and just the warning light crying wolf ?
has the car got very wet recently ?
have you tried the old switch it off, let everything cool down/dry out, and try again trick ?

Thanks for the responses so far! I'm afraid the Audi R8 is a bit too 'everyday' for me, and looks unfinished from most angles apart from the front.. Not what I was really in the Market for.
The spoiler itself is up, not sure if its fully up, or half way as I'm not sure how high it reaches? The faults all happened about 2 mintuss after starting it up. It was filled up with petrol an hour before hand, and I washed it yesterday.. ?
No champagne I'm afraid Will

Bit more info Andrew.. The faults/lights all happened within 30s of each other, first the ABS/ESP then almost straight after the speedo and spoiler faulted.did they occur on start-up or whilst running ?

Sorry to hear of your problems and hope they are sorted quickly and simply.
Don't listen to the idiot who wants to turn this thread into a dull R8 discussion without offering you any help. I've had 3 Lambo's in 2 years and nothing has gone wrong with any of them (apart from a squeaking brake calliper).

Nah I'm not. R8 is a great car, just not for me! The Gallardo was what I wanted.Don't listen to the idiot who wants to turn this thread into a dull R8 discussion without offering you any help. I'm sure it's a lovely car but to be honest I'm sure the op would rather have help with trying to fix the problem rather than someone trying to justify their new purchase. I'm sure this has come across as very di*k-headish, but it really wasn't meant to I was just trying to get the topic back on track.A Gallardo is a stunning looking car, but has so many foible's its a owners nightmare. Back to the original question, I would imagine it is something to do with the ECU. For example my DB9 constantly tells me it needs a emissions service and alarm service, but it doesn't it's just a common problem with the ECU. Sorry I couldn't be of more help and to hear your having problems with yours. I've had mine for 5 years this summer and other than a flat battery haven't had any problems. Hope it's al resolved soon.
