430 Spider hood problem
Discussion
The black hood on my spider has feint greyish patches and creases at the sides where it folds, also on top by the ribs. I've tried Renovo - about as much use as tits on a bull for this particular problem.
Any ideas how to cure this? I suspect the problem is that the previous owner or some sales muppet put the hood down while still wet. Ahhhhhhhhh! Didn't notice when I picked up the car, partly because I think it's got worse. Paranoia setting in. Why MUST it rain so much in this benighted country? Maybe chianti would do the trick?

When I was looking for my spider found that 360 & F430 spiders all end up like this the hood marks at the points it folds and wears very quickly, even new cars in the showroom have some visable marks!
You will just have to live with it.
Thanks for this. Just another little pain we must live with in this ocean of tears that is Ferrari ownership. I always knew I should have bought that Lada. You will just have to live with it.

are you sure they're not stains from that wax you're using
Very witty. In fact my wax easily comes off just about anything - except paintwork. Have already had my wrist smacked today for inappropriate posting, so won't go on here about the wonders of a certain patron saint of lovers' wax.

You might be better advised to try this dye as opposed to paint. It's suitable for carpets and synthetic fabrics http://www.monzacarcare.com/products/?category_id=...

unfortunately i'm not going to be cleaning any cars for the next month or 2, i've broken my leg!
Sorry to hear that. However, if you were a dedicated detailer - which I'm definately not - you could probably rig up a wheelchair with a tray for all the stuff you need. Could even strap a power hose to the arm and make like a water cannon. Useful also if there's a riot in the neighbourhood. I really must stop taking those pills...Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
