Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their hood on the GS. Mine was sometimes pinching an inch or so of the inner lining when it was closing up, leaving it sticking out. A quick poke with the finger was all it would need.

I've just got the car back from the dealer who replaced the hood under warranty to try and sort it. Tried it once last night after it came back...and it's worse :-( Instead of the pinched bit being about 6 inches wide it's now about a foot. I'm wondering if this is a common issue?

Not a GS owner but sounds more like the mechanism rather than the hood. Do you know if they took at look at this while replacing hood?

Not sure, closed until Monday and didn't get the car back until 9pm last night. I'll call them on Monday of course but at present I'd have to say it sounds like either

a) Mechanism as you suggested
b) "No-cost option"
c) In need of further adjustment
d) Any/all of the above

Never had an issue like that on my G spyder. Just had it on my 430 spider though and the service staff at my dealer knew immediately what the fault was - a piece of plastic inside the hood that pulls it inward of the frame during opening or closing had come adrift. It only took 90 minutes to fix, an hour of which was waiting for the glue to harden. Could be a similar issue on your hood.

This used very occasionally to happen to my car. After I had opened the roof, an inch or so of the roof fabric would sometimes be left poking out of the leading edge of the engine cover just behind the firewall over a width of about a foot.

However, back in March, during a few miles drive up what turned into a rough farm track (on a mad mission to find some restaurant in the depths of the Somerset coutryside) there was a lound twang and a minute or so of clanking from under the back of the car. When I got home, the roof would not close (it stuck half-way), nor would it completely open again (the engine cover would not close down the final couple of inches in the sequence). I ended up having Lambo Assist truck the car back to London.

Lambo Lon said that a controller/sesnor cable for the roof mechanism had been routed incorrectly at the factory, and had (presumably) been under tension, and had (presumably) been shaken out during the cross-country episode.

Anyway, the upshot of this saga is that, since LL repaired the latter problem, I have not had a recurrence of the roof fabric failing to fold away properly and having to poke it down with a stick. And I do have a new, and satisfyingly loud, click as the engine cover locks down at the end of the roof opening cycle that I certainly didn't used to have.

Thanks TimboL, that could prove very useful. The reply I've had so far has been to "try and leave the car with the hood down as this may train it to sit properly when folded".
