I love both...

To me the 348 is a bit more, dare I say - "not so hairdresser"...

Those 360 wheels really update the look and to my eyes, they look better on the 348 than they do on the 360 for some reason!

How do they compare interms of size (both width and rolling circumference) and offsets?

How come your rear wheels don't seem to stand out as much as mine Lars? (and I've had 5mm skimmed off each of the centres). I still think mine sit a touch too wide.

Unless that is a hefty bit of negative camber you have set up there?

Hi

I had 18mm machined of mine. So they sit like I like it.
And yes I have alot of rear camber. Measured it to 2 degrees today, and think it might be too much.

Will skimming affect the integrity of the wheel?

You need to make sure that the wheel flange still has a propper thickness. Fortunately the 360 BBS wheels have a really thick flange, so it possible to machine it some.

My wheel guy told me that you generally want about 20 mm flange as a rule of thumb.

eek 18mm? Bloody hell you're brave!

I wanted 10mm off mine and I got an old school engineer to do it. He refused to take any more than 5mm off as he felt it would risk weakening the wheels.

My wheel guy said the same on the phone. When he had the wheel at his shop he said we could go to 18mm as there is plenty meat on them. Try to look at the flange on the fronts.

Interesting.... if a little Heath Robinson.

There's a company that I've come accross out here in Switzerland that claim to be able to widen alloy wheels... although god knows precisely how they do it!

http://www.laubscherjantes.ch/site/index.php?optio...

Not sure what the offsets are but instead of milling down the hubs, could it also be an idea to start off with a second set of front wheels and widen them? Although perhaps the 360 rears are slightly 'dished' so modified fronts might not look quite so good.

18mm would scare me! The alloy is fairly soft stuff and any bend or flex where the spokes integrate with the hub will soon work harden the metal and run the risk of cracks.
If you look at those two photos, the main difference for the wheel being tucked in so far is the camber. I'm guessing Lars' car would skip at the back end on bumpy corners and snap away near the limit in a manner that even Lewis Hamilton would find a challenge to catch! Does it eat away the inner edges of the rear tyres too?

What tyres are you using please Lars and what are the sizes? The profile looks similar to Goodyear Eagle F1s but I didn't think they made them in sizes to fit the 360 wheels.

I am going for Toyo 888s next ... but I just can't seem to wear these Falkens out!
