How to remove the wind deflector on a 430 spider?

I'm going crazy here. Can't clean the rear window on the inside as the wind deflector is in the way. The owner's manual doesn't have any info at all. I just tried Club Scuderia's site but the best some guy previously came up with was to use an axe! A tad extreme, but I know how he feels. And my F. dealer's service manager just went home .... but no! Just as I typed that, he called me back - he's a hero, Douglas from Greypaul Edinburgh, super blokes. The trick, he says, is just pull the thing straight up. It's held in by two prongs that go into rubber mounts. OK. Am away to try it.
