LP 670 SV..............DRIVEN!
Discussion
Dear all,
It has been so difficult keeping my mouth shut about this!
I have a very dear friend, whom I met a few years ago, who was originally a customer, but is now someone very valued to me, and he has a fantastic selection of cars in his stable.
He is on here, but hasn't posted for a little while.
Anyway, cutting a long story short, he was in the right place at the right time, asked for some advice, not that I think he needed it, and ended up getting the very first RHD LP 670 SV available, before the press car, and a good 4 weeks before any other customer.
It was delievered on Thursday, and he invited me to see it this morning.

It is stunning, on a different level to the stadard car, and looks evil.
Anyway, he fired her up, and asked if I wanted to go for a spin.
So we went down the road, got her warmed up, then he pulled over, and offered me the drivers seat.
Talk about feeling like a giggling idiot!!!
Anyway, all I will say is that it feels very sharp, with immediate turn in, very little understeer, the car just wants to go, the weight loss makes a huge difference to the car, in both feel and ride, the E-Gear system is again an improvement on what has gone before, and the brakes are more than you will ever need.
I was limited to 4,000 rpm as the car had only 200 miles on it, but it will be making an appearance in two weeks, here hopefully, if he has had the time, it should be run in and ready to be given it's head.
The fit and finish inside is beautiful, with the carbon fibre really making the interior special. And I love the car without the high rear wing, it just rolls down from the engine cover, which incidentally is a work of art.
The seats are tight and firm, but just feel right, and the steering is finer than any current supercar I have driven, and I've done most of them.
I am running out of time now, but I have plenty more pics and am happy to put more thoughts up here if you want to know.
Also, I hope that you can view the pics, if not, as I am a PC idiot, pm me if you can host them and get them up here for me.
Cheers, and regards to you all,
Ruttboy.

I think that this car is in a different league to the standard car, much like the Gallardo Superleggera was to the standard Gallardo.
The car just felt so sharp, very race car like, and very immediate,in the fact that your inputs were done with no hesitation.
And I have to say that I think it is worth the extra, because I told him to buy it.
But I do think that Lamborghini have produced something very special in this car, no doubt.

How much commission did you make from pursading him ? The car just felt so sharp, very race car like, and very immediate,in the fact that your inputs were done with no hesitation.

I prefer the f*k off great huge 747 wing on the back like Lambos are supposed to have! lol
...but good on him! Awesome, awesome looking car - I *love* the rear louvres, the seats, so many of the added styling cues that have helped to put some of the 'offense' back into the overall look!
Will we be lucky enough to see it / him at supercar sunday? I know there would be a LOT of people who would really love to take a look at his new pride & joy if he felt up for 'sharing'
...or even just at the meet at Lamborghini High Wycombe, if he didn't feel up to letting the 'general public' in the vicinity of his new toy?
(I know Gaydon have done roped off areas in the past for Enzos etc... IMO, I personally wouldn't see this as any less deserving given its current, utterly unique nature!)

Absolutely stunning. Excuse ignorance, is it rwd as SV should be or awd ?
Hi Graeme,It is awd, with I think a 30/70 split, but feels rwd.
As with all Murcielagos, the car is rwd until traction is compromised, and then via the viscous coupling, drive is transferred to the front. Which, and forgive me if my understanding is wrong, that when the car releys to you understeer in a corner, you have the option of applying power to let the fwd sort it out, or coming off the power and letting mechanical grip take over.
Now I'm probably wrong, but the last time I went out with Mr Balboni from the factory, I'm sure this is what he was saying, and demonstrating, mind you, he was so sideways at the time, I may well be confused.
I certainly know that in my even with my limited skill, I have managed to get a Murcielago to tuck in under power and drive through the understeer to get into a lovely neutral stance ith all the wheels driving, if that makes sense?
I will check with the brochure I have for the car to see what it says.
Also, Dr Evil Fish, watch this space........
