355 ECU...Self learning?
Discussion
I had a new clutch fitted to my new (to me) 355...
The chap who fitted it said take it easy for 300 miles lift off between changes etc etc...
Ok done that, been obviously sympathetic but now I want to actually drive the car....however he also told me he wants to reset the ECU as it learns your driving style and responds accordingly (not new to this idea)
A: Is this rubbish?
B: Can I have this done at some point and still drive enthusiastically in the meantime
Reason I ask is he now can't see me to actually do it for a while....
PS: It's an F1 box

Disconnect/reconnect battery (there is a knob in the front luggage area).
Make sure everything electric is turned off including aircon.
Start car.
Leave to idle for a few minutes.
Job done.
Also, I dont know how critical it is. I don't get to use mine much so always kill the battery when I leave it. I don't sit around waiting for the ECU to reset when I come back to it and have never noticed anything.
