Hi All,

I noticed a 360 for sale that has sports suspension and was wondering just how harsh the ride quality is from normal? Would it be a little too harsh for long distance jaunts?

Thanks,

Chiefly

I think they all do as there is a "sport" switch on RHS of driver to activate it (at least there was on my 2003 360 Spider plus others I looked at when buying).
To be honest I never noticed the difference and hardly used it but never tracked mine so maybe it is more noticable there. In normal "spirited" driving on the road I could never notice. I found the ride in the 360 excellent so dont think you need to worry. If the one you are looking at has special after market suspension that might be different. I hope this helps.

Excellent stuff, thanks for clarifying that.

No problem. As an aside I did 2 trips round Europe of 2500 miles each and found the 360 really comfortable with ride a good combination of comfort and grip when you needed it. I am sure you will enjoy if you buy one. I had the normal seats so cannot comment on race seats although I believe they are good too.

Good to know. A few trips around Europe will be on the todo list as well smile

I agree with whats been said above,
i've hardly used my sport switch as it seems to make no difference on a mnual car.

apparently on F1 models it does alter the gear change settings but i've not had experience of that.

i've done a lot of european miles in mine and it is an excellent all rounder for that...
heading off in less than a month for another 3k trip around the Alps..

so if you're buying it as an all rounder it's a very good choice.

me too (trip round Europe that is!) but this time in a Gallardo Spyder with no boot to speak off. My 360 was manual so cannot comment on whether "sport" setting affects gear changes or not.

Mine is also a manual and I do notice that the car becomes firmer with the sport button activated .....the main diffrence however is that the traction control no longer intervenes when not wanted.

In a manual car the 'sport' mode firms up the suspension and slackens the ASR it does not remove ASR completly nor does it do anything to the gearbox. For F1 box it changes the map for the gear change speed and on the CS opens the exhaust valves earlier for that great noisebiggrin

me too, seems to "tighten" the steering slightly and definately feel less compliant and stiffer (if only they could easily back of the asr and keep the soft shock settings!)

F1 box gear change is much quicker and harsher, spension is stiffer. Very noticeable at high speed. My 360 spider F1 against a 2004 520bhp gallardo manual are neck and neck up to 120 on the straight. quick gear change makes a big difference as the gallardo clearly has more power.
