The car has the Lamborghini Sat Nav system in it (so has the LCD screen), is it possible to play the image through the screen.

Has anyone done this?

Any idea of how much it would cost?

Could a Lamborghini main dealer do this?

The car is an 05 if that matters at all.

Thanks for the help.

Not sure of the practicalities, as I don't have a Gallardo. but unless you have a pressing need, I wouldn't bother.

I have a rear view camera in the GT, and would much prefer a mirror if it was possible. The camera isn't as clear as a mirror, especially if the sun is behind you and is completely useless in the dark, when the screen just fills up with lens flare from the headlights of the cars behind you.

If the sun is shining inside the car and on to the screen, it can also be difficult to see what is behind you.

Personally I can't think of a single area where a rear view camera performs better than a rear view mirror.

Just because it has a screen doesn't mean you can def fit a camera.
Find out if head unit has a video input - it can play dvd for example. If so then you should be fine to fit a camera.

Some cameras are better than others - no point fitting a cheap low res camera to a lambo. Best get one with ir etc.

Key is getting someone decent to fit it as will ionvolve bodywork mod so needs to be done well so it doesn't look tatty. Seen too many rangies with a cheapo looking job..

Planning installation on my new aero8 so be interested in how you get on...

I assume you have an RNSE head unit (the one with the screen that co
es down and you can put SD Cards in behind?

If so then it's surprisingly easy. The Audi q7 camera retrofits very easily into the RNSE head unit your only challenge will be mounting it somewhere. I can't picture the handle set up on a gallardo but fr so
e reason I can picture a camera randomly in the rear grill somewhere? If that's the location you're after that would be fairly simple too and you could do yourself

all you need is coding change on the head unit!

Yes it can be done, Lambo Birmingham can do it, well the use someone to do it, I have a card for them somewhere.

You can also retrofit the fully integrated bluetooth, as has been said, both assume you have the RNS-E DVD satnav.

I had the rear view camera on my last Spyder, this one hasn't got it, and I miss it badly, I found it very useful.

Speak to Craig in service at Lambo Brum.

The after-market bits and bobs brochure that Lambo London sent out quite a while ago has:

RVC kit from £3,979.13 (subject to model year and vehicle specification) inc fitting and VAT.

I find the fisheye lens makes the thing more of an entertainment than a useful aid to parking. I think it'd be better to have a couple of sharp sticks that came out from the back from the car and set off a beeper if they poked something; with the additional advantage of encouraging sight-seers to step aside while you're trying to squeeze into a space.

Damn! You could adopt a small child, keep him in your boot, and let him out to guide you everytime you reverse for less than that!! (He could even be trained to beep at different pitches for when you get real close to something!)

laugh

I'm sorry, I must have mis-read that. For a minute it looked like you wrote nearly £4k!

The parts needed for the reversing camera (excluding any housing) are a few hundred quid - and they're the official Audi parts too. It's just where/how you mount it, that's the only bit that will be different on the lambo.

I wonder if it involves replacing the spoiler? What is on the backwards-facing face of the fin in the middle of the spoiler if you don't have the camera fitted at the factory?

Ah yes good thinking = now you've said that, I think a friend of mine's SL has one in the bottom of the spoiler in the centre. That would explain the high cost too.

For the retrofit you can fit it in the honeycomb grill just below the spoiler. No need to change the spoiler.

We can do it, or I can just put you in touch with the guys that do it for us so should save you a few quid! About £1350 + VAT.

Alpine Camera, fitted in the number plate recess, nice and neat, comes on automatically when you select reverse etc, as per factory.

Fitting a new rear spoiler etc will be telephone numbers, and frankly, a waste of time!

PM me if you want the info.

Cheers

And that plugs into the RNS-E and interface OK?

Might have to look into that! Cheers.

Hi Lambo xx

Im the guy who fits these cameras for Lamborghini / Bentley Birmingham

Well I used to work for the company that did this and i'm the only one that knows how.

I have now set up on my own doing this.

if you want i can fit this for you

the kit uses a genuine lambo control box and an aftermarket camera along with a bit of programming to the nav unit it works exactly like the factory fit, there is NO pressing of buttons like some other kits.

I can if you want fit the camera in the wing as per factory but there realy is no need the camera I fit is very good quality and fits just above the number plate.

Please feel free to contact me if you want the job done will travel to you for a cost..

I Can also retro fit Factory Bluetooth to Lamborghini

and also retro fit Bentley reversing cameras using genuine parts ( with the guide lines as well )

Hi, can you also fit and re-prog audo a3/a4 sat navs into the gallardo?

See link:

I just dont fancy paying 2,800quid for an identical 400quid audi unit....

It is possible to retro an Audi RNS-E

You do need to trim the fascia sides off a bit (I do this on a milling machine) and change the plugs and some of the wiring and you also need to change a few of the programming code parameters like wheel pulse and stuff otherwise it runs to fast or slow and the cursor jumps a bit. All this is no problem to do.

I specialize in all of this and can even change the LOGO from Audi to Lamborghini.
I have done maybe 30 / 40 of these.

if you're interested just contact me..

Hi there, so it was yourself who came to my work and re-enabled my bluetooth if you remember me.

I can vouch for his work, top notch!

Might have to drop you a line about a reversing camera.

How can you do this? It's a different wing isn't it?
