Guys

Here is a flyer we are circualting for the above. Please come along and support it!

Italian Car and Bike Joint Meeting

Hopetoun House 16th August 2009

In response to suggestions form various clubs proposing a joint informal meet we have gone ahead and planned one!

We have arranged with one of Scotland’s greatest country homes, Hopetoun House near the forth road bridge, http://www.hopetounhouse.com to use their grounds on Sunday 16th August for the meet. Check it out, it’s a stunning location.
It is not going to be a ‘public event’ like Craigton or AutoItalia. That would require a different level of intense organization over a longer time. If the meet works then it is hoped to plan a full scale event for Italian cars and bikes next year.

The arrangements are simple:

1. Hopetoun will charge £5 entry to their grounds for every car and bike, even if multiple occupants/riders. The organisers and clubs make nothing out of this.
2. The number of cars/bikes are limited to 200.
3. We have to be in the grounds in front of the house by 10.30am at the latest. Suggested leaving time is about 3pm
4. Clubs will be allocated space according to marque. We will use the horseshoe and drive in front of the house, which ordinarily are ‘off limits’.
5. You need to contact the organizer posting this, in advance, to notify if you are going to display as we have to limit the numbers. The display cars will get and display a permit.
6. The restaurant will go from table service to self service for the day. Capacity is 100. The food is good.
7. The house will try and lay on interests for children in the grounds.
8. An engraved cup and prize is being donated by 360 Complete Vehicle Detailing for the nicest or most original car/bike.
9. The family still live in the house and it’s open to the public so we have to be well behaved and safe!
10. It’s absolutely only Italian cars and bikes. No exceptions.

Sorry I can't make it Paul but

a) I hope it goes as well as possible,

b) I hope you'll do something similar again soon and

c) why not ferry your Lambos there so that would be a couple at least??

I'll try and drag folk from down 'ere up there for this event next year - the venue looks brilliant!

!Hi

Firstly thanks to everyone who came along either with cars and bikes to display or just to see. In particular i would like to thank the bikes for coming along and lending immense enthusiasm to the day. Could those from the bike clubs please pass this on?

Secondly big thanks to Ali of 360 complete detailing for kindly donating the engraved cup which was won by the car with the biggest WOW! factor , which was a gorgeous Fiat 500 in yellow with fabric roof! Think it was a 1963? It was pretty tough deciding who should win as here were some truly deserving bikes and cars.

I had a great day and loved the variety of cars and bikes. Some of the bikes were truly awesome at at £45000 quite expensive! Shame there seemed to be some cars in the public car park that never came over? Don't know why.

Finally, can i ask for some feedback either public or private? Any feedback positive or negative is welcome. We want to organise a proper event next time and need to know what we got right and wrong!

thanks again

Paul and the rest of the organisers

A great day out. Many thanks to all the organisers. Some pics from me. Bit of a Ferrari bias in mine but it was ace to see all the other Italian machinery. Got to say thar from a non-bikers point of view .... it was great seeing all the bikes!!

Had the 360 Spider roof down through the rain on the way there, which was novel, and didn't put it up again till I got home. Sore ears and a tender forehead now tho smile

Hi
thanks for that. Shame you didnt bring the TR and park it up and have a chat! Look out for what we are doing next year!

The local Scottish ferrari owners club also organise quite few evetns and are a really nice ordinary bunch of car nuts! If you want details let me know as we are always delighted to have fellow petrolheads along!
