Watched an only clip of him Test driving the 355 and when he bought his and it got me thinking. Does anyone know what happened to it? It was GTS Rosso with Crema and the carbon fibre seats.

Thanks

It was given away as 1st prize in a Sunday Times competition some years ago, where it's gone from there, I have no idea.

I still have the issue of Top Gear mag from 1997 when Clarkson wrote a piece on buying his 355.

There's a great passage in it about him choosing colour, to the effect of:

"In my dreams my Ferrari was always black, but these days they do the most amazing metallic green which, when held against a piece of tan leather, looked fantastic.

"So, have you made up your mind yet?" asked the Salesman

"Yes" I said, still holding the green slab in my hand

"I want Rosso with cream leather"

hehe

I remember that issue (bit sad) - has a pic of him sitting on the steps of the dealership pouring over colour charts.

Yes that's the clip I was watching. It's funny because when I was looking at buying one I watched this clip and felt exactly the same. He says in it somewhere "I have to have one" and I was like yes So do I.
