Hedingham Castle Supercar day

Date:
Sunday 2 August 2009

Venue:
Headingham Castle, Bayley Street, Castle Hedingham, Essex. CO9 3DJ

Map
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?utm_campaign=en_GB&a...

Directions
Be careful if you have a TOMTOM. Mine sent me to the castle via small country lanes.

What's going to happen:
We'll be parking the cars around the Castle. It will be an opportunity to meet and chat with other owners and enthusiasts.

Invited:
Ferrari's & Lamborghini (Pagani, Buggati, Koneggsegg etc also welcome. Please check with Angelis first)

Please note: There is no longer a guest list. If you have a Ferarri/lambo, please come along.

Parking availability for Ferrari/Lambo's:
We can accomodate around 100 cars around Castle itself (see map below). If that gets filled out, then additional cars will be parked along the driveway outside. So it pays to get there early if you can.

Driving over the Bridge
Ferrari's & lambo's will need to drive over a draw bridge in front of the Castle. it loosk quite high, but we've easily got a group of Ferrari's over it without a problem.

Parking for non-Ferrari/Lambo's
There is parking available for visitors in the Castle grounds. Normal cars are fine, but low sportscar have to be careful.

Disabled parking
Disabled parking is available along the main drive.

What if it rains
I've been told that the grass area around the castle has very good drainage, so even if it rains the ground will be firm.

OPENING TIMES
Gates open: 10:00am
Gates close: 5:00pm

ADMISSION PRICE
Scudrunner full Members: Free entry
Ferrari & lamborghini owners: £5 per car (includes all passengers)

OTHER VISITORS
Adults: £6.00
Concessions: £5.50
Children: £4.50
Family: £21.00

Please note: Neither the Scudrunner Club or myself are taking any payment for organising the event. All supercar admission fees go towards the Castles ongoing renovation.

FACILITIES ON SITE
- Picnic tables
- Toilet Facilities (including disabled toilets)
- First aid in Castle

VISIT THE CASTLE
The Castle Keep will be open to visitors on the day. Please feel free to take a tour around the building.

CATERING FACILITIES

[LIST=1]
- Food van - Providing burgers, jacket potatoes etc
- Outside bar - serving Pimms, beer, wine, soft drinks (if good weather also ice cream)
- Tea room inside the Castle itself serving Hot Drinks & Home Made cakes.

IMPORTANT PARKING WARNING
Please be careful when driving on the grass as there are a few dips in the grounds which can cause low cars a problem. I've driven my Ferrari 348 around it and not had a problem. But drive slowly.

NOTICES - Please ensure you read the following

- Please do not wheelspin on the grass on purpose.
- No leaflets are to be handed out or placed on cars. Anyone found doing so will be asked to pick them up and then asked to leave the Castle grounds.
- Please listen to the Marshals. They are there to help you.
- All Marshals are doing this for free and sacrificing their time to ensure that everybody enjoys themselves on the day. Anyone disrespecting the Marshals in anyway will be ejected from the grounds immediatly.

If you have any problems
Please contact one of the Marshals who are wearing teh flourescent vests. Alternatively, fine me (wearing a bright yellow cagoole, or Philip (who'll be wearing a striped hi-vis vest)

Convoys to the Castle
I believe there may be some groups leaving for the Castle from various locations, one of them being Brentwood. Others will post up details shortly. If not, why not organise your own convoy.

Scudrunner membership

A few people have asked about joining the Scudrunner Club. The Club is a non profit making club for Ferarri & Lamborghini owners. We'll be handing out membership forms to owners at teh main gate. If you are interested in joining, please complete the form and hand it to Philip who'll be standing near the bridge (wearing a striped hi-vis vest). Noramlly membership is £20 for period to Dec 31st 2010, but on the day it will be £15 as you have already paid the £5 entry fee.

Hope you enjoy the day with us.

Sy

FYI...

There is a convoy heading up from London, meeting at the McDonalds at the Junction of Aspen Way and Cotton Street leaving at 8am

(You will need to rotate the map to face West and you will see the McD's there...)

Hi Mark,

yes, our convoy is meeting up at Brentwood - it's just for those of use heading that way from London biggrin

Ask Leslie for the time, I'm pretty sure he and Lorraine are organising us all there! I'm guessing 9am?

Aha - got his e-mail - here you go:

"There is a restarant near by 2 minute walk or bring a pinic,we are at 9 - 10 o'clock in the morning we be doing a convey from Nags head pub in Brentwood Essex just off juction 28 of the M25. will be going along the A12 and coming off at the Stanway turn juction 26 off the A12 and doing about 8 mile's of WIDE country road"

I can attest to the Restaurant / Pub's food quality as Sy suggested we all head down there last time but unless you get there early, you may have a LOOOOOOONG wait when they're busy!

A Pic-a-nic may be the way to go? smile

I won't be back on the PC until after the Hedingham event.

Just to remind you.... there is no formal guest list. If you have a lambo, ferrari, zonda, veyron, konnegsegg... you are more than welcome to turn up on the day.

PS it was great listening to you all leave with the exhaust notes echoing around the village and seeing three Lambo's including the red Countach parked up in Sudbury Waitrose car park!

Can I just second the vote of thanks to Sy and the others. Fantastic day, great weather and such friendly people. The cars weren't bad either!! What is the collective noun for Lambos and Ferraris? An Exotica perhaps!!Also driving up I went through the Dartford Tunnel behind the Enzo on its way up there. What a sound. Well done that man!!

...not too sure that there's a common collective noun for the two marques together but surely

a herd of Lamborghinis

might be the words to use and given the usual paint colour of the vast majority of cars from Maranello, then the phrase

a clot of Ferraris

could well be accurate enough...

ps glad y'all had a good day and there was no car drowning going on!

Great turn out, loved the orange Diable GT.

Does anyone know the background to the RHD F50 - is it an ex Brunei one? (sorry if it's been asked before)
