The big attraction to a Ferrari is the noise when accelerating in 2nd and 3rd right.

How come other engine manufactures can't reproduce anything like it?

Because not everyone is enamoured with what a Ferrari sounds like. Personally I think they sound a bit thin and reedy, and am grateful that engine manufacturers don't all produce engines that sound like that.

Your post is akin to saying that Elvis was the be all and end all of singers, and why don't all singers sound like Elvis. Frankly, it would be a pretty boring world if they did. (And no, I'm not a fan of Elvis either.)

I find that the noise depends on the tipo, 360's & 430's seem to have become more high pitched and metallic sounding (at least to my ears) whilst the carb fed cars have a sound all of their own especially the vintage V12's cloud9

I've got to admit it sounds pretty sweet when you get up above 6,500 revs but nothing, and I mean nothing sounds as good as Elvis!
(Ok, Smokey Robinson maybe but, you know)
