Driving in St.Ives
Discussion
Guys- I'm off to St.Ives, Cornwall shortly, from the North, and would love to take my 355 but am put off the idea by the thought of:
a) Getting stuck (literally!) in one of the myriad of tiny side streets and
b) Losing the front of my car to one of the many 1:2 inclines
which got me thinking- is there a way to get cars like ours into places like these?

Also, there is a hell of a lot of traffic around St.IVes at the moment (well there was two weeks ago) so watch for overheating and for the clucth. Another thing, there is a lot of cars with the door mirrors taped on. THe country lens are VERY narrow so if you come across a lorry you could scrape you car on the hedgerow. No one indicators either, so watch that one.
I came back from St Ives yesterday and I really love the place but I wouldn't take the 328! No way! Lanes far too narrow, parking spaces seem smaller than anywhere else and hundreds of prams, bikes and people carrying surf boards etc. Maybe in winter when it's quieter...Now there's a thought.
