355 Service - when?

Hi Guys

I'm in the fortunate position of looking after my bosses 355. He's taking the car off the road for the winter and I note from the service book that the car is due a service next month.

I figure that servicing the car only for it to sit in the garage for 6 months is a bit of a false economy. Only thing is, it leaves a gap in the history of the car which has been serviced religiously every year at the same time since new.

So, the question is, do I service it now to keep the records consistent or wait until it goes back on the road next spring?

(The reason its being laid up now is that he's gonna be away for the next few months and won't be using the car).

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Also, is there anything I should be doing to avoid any kind of deterioration whilst its 'resting'? I've bought a tailored cover for it and it lives in a gently heated and de-humidified garage.

Get it serviced and ensure it is the correct service that you have done.
You will be able to work out what it is due from the book. The least it needs is an Annual.

Same applies to any car. My cars service interval is annually or 12k miles of which I only do about 5. Still get it serviced to the annual schedule.
