Is that supposedly a motoring website? Terrible, terrible write up.

And since when has "Quality" been a pre-requisite for Lambo ownership?

Crap write up if that is supposed to be the effort of a motoring journalist. I can't think of a single Lambo that has ever been produced with "gull wing doors".

agreed on the general crapiness of the write up and also note that Gingerminger Spicediwell seems tobe getting younger again - she's at least 44 I reckon, like it matters...

Mind you DW, here's the only known gull wing Lamborghini:

The Marzal is also the only 6 cylinder Lamborghini (so far...) and like all Bertone's prototypes it probably still works.

Ah, but the Marzal was never put in to production.

Indeed not. The are echos of it in the shape of the Espada though...

Ferruccio Lamborghini didn't like the Marzal (not wild about it myself either, come to that) but at least it didn't become a gull winged flop like certain (usually) silver-coloured cars did in 1970s Britain...

According to the BBC's 'On This Day' website John DeLorean was cleared of drug charges on this day in 1984 but was never cleared of the far more serious charges of offending the sensibilities of millions with 'those' gull winged silver-coloured flops with his name on...

Also on this day in 1977 Elvis Presley died but I don't believe it. There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis!

... oh please don't go, hang your coat back on that peg!

The Marzal (even in tiny model form!) was an idea that was good enough to be suggested to FL as far as Bertone were concerned and may have spawned such great ideas as the various crazy cars used in the Anderson's 'UFO' or just about any 1970s styled 'future' vision...

If you've kept your Dink(e?)y Marzal in good condition for all this time, it's worth a fair few bob for sure and worth much more than that in your childhood memory box! It was certainly a very cool model to have then and even more so now!

You could visit the Bertone factory in Turin and actually see the car or check the Gruppo Bertone website at

www.bertone.it/User/en/index1_en.html

where you will find more information about all the Bertone's activities over the last 90+ years!

Meanwhile, here's some more of Bertone's Lamborghini ideas, this time the Urraco based BRAVO from 1974...

which is still alive and the ATHON from 1980 which is also based on the Urraco and is also still alive...

none of which have anything much to do with Ms. Haliborangehead's LP640 but then, this is PistonHeads and things go where they go, I guess!

thumbup . silly

Can't really see a problem... What's wrong with Geri Halliwell owning a Lamborghini?

hmmm... the original poster of this thread is now and will continue to be a Lamborghini owner (I'm sure!) and many others posting here are also actually Lamborghini owners/drivers as well, including myself...

Not sure what the point of posting the 'envy' image is as we're the ones most likely to suffer from that kind of envious-oik activity!

As regards Gerispiced having a Lamborghini at all, surely the point of remarking about the 'quality' of the owner in question is that she probably won't like the car at all or have any actual appreciation of it.

But I guess it's all too simple to judge somebody badly in that respect though she's never done much to warrant any other opinion...

Perhaps she's actually a full-on, max-loudpedal driver who can hang out the tail of any car at any time she feels like doing it and who will enjoy her Lamborghini to the maximum...

But really, probably not.

many years ago she came within an inch of hitting me in her Aston Martin DB7.....we both stopped....smiled and waved (I was going round a roudabout a bit briskly...she pulled out a bit hopefully) and then 'chased her' along a couple of bits of road.....i would say she can drive.....

Cheers, I played with it, do not have the box, but as it was a bit special to me (Birthday present from my dad, it survived in fanastic condition, it is hidden away in the roof space, will try and find it, my kids will like it, but to look at, I have visions of them jumping it down the stairs. Will try do a pic of it if that is not to sad, will have to get my coat then.

I have always found Geri fit, fitter still if she had a mute button, which bless her she clearly does not have.

She likes her cars, cool gesture of her fella to get a LP640. Wonder if she has the classic MB SL that George Micheal lent her, hope she has for his sake. wink

Was it Orange? So was mine!

I remember seeing th Marzal in a film, probably in the early 70's, when this (IIRC) gorgeously exotic sexy women had her door opened by her chauffer.....

Have you seen this:

Do the hexagons remind you of your car Doug? I'll finally be picking my SV up towards the end of this month! Can't wait!

Similar story... I came across Geri years ago as well...............then mum called me downstairs to watch the A team and eat fish fingers and chips.
