Hi Guys,

I was having lots and lots of fun yesterday in my 360 in the sun! Unfortunatly when i came to a roundabout and droped to neutral the F1 system went!

Basically the gear system was in neutral and woulnt not respond to any changes from the paddles and teh transmission failure light came on intermittantly.

I phoned up marenello and they told me it was most probably the fuse.. I took out the F1 pump fuse and it was blown.

After an hour and half stuck in the middle of a 3 way carriage off the motorway i managed to get the car home!! - How red faced! Some driver in a 996 porsche openning laughing! haha

I nipped to hallfords and got a replacement fuse.. however this has not worked!? Do i need a genuine ferrari fuse? If so where can i get one from??

Any help will be much apprechaited?

hi- i posted this a while ago in reply to a similar thread- not sure if part price is still the same

msg from verdi- open drivers door and check to see if f1 system pump starts -if not , check maxi fuses [behind passenger seat ] to make sure it's not blown. if it has replace with another from tool kit. pump should kick in if it's working, listen out for grinding noise .
360 f1 pump does fail , £700 to replace,

The Maserati 4200 uses the same system - one of the guys on the maserati forum got his pump fixed for less than £100 - might be worth looking into that route. Also - there is talk on ferrari chat about replacing/uprating the F1 relay.

ETA: here's the linky for the masser forum: http://www.maseratiforum.co.uk/tm.asp?m=20586&...

Somebody also mentioned to me that it is idenical to one of the Alfa Selespeed pumps, which are a lot cheaper than the Ferrari part.

yeah, check the fuse & the relay first - excess load on the pump causes one or both to go & is normally what leaves you at the side of the road (assuming it's near identical to the Maser setup). Lots of info over on maseratiforum on it though. There's also some details for a place reconditioning the pumps. Seems like failures are either poor fluid due to lack of maintenance or debris from the armature getting caught in the coils & shorting to the body blowing the fuse.

I couldn't say 100% for sure but am confident that they are the same system.
