Having seen quite a few times locally and been very unimpressed with the looks of a SL55AMG with a chrome wrap. Today I saw my first ever Matt Black wrap. A Lamborghini Murcielago, black wheels and with a fair few nice shiny chips on the edges of the wheels. I do have a real naff shot on my phone camera. Car parked up outside a restauraunt in Bushey. IMO the best way to make a £200K supercar look like a £20K shed. Having only ever seen shots on PH and thought it would work, in the flesh so to speak just awful

As requested. Agreed taken from a crappy mobile phone but it just looks no better in the flesh.

It's nicely camouflaged with the boarded up house behind it!

I saw a GT3 and Gallardo in matt black wrap over the past couple of months and they both looked good imho....but I am not sure about that one for some reason.

I'd say at least you can see what has been attempted there though... just not too successfully!

As with a lot of things that mimic the real-deal that Lamborghini can manage originally, it looks as naff as a kit car version of a Countach or a Diablo, superficially 'correct' to most viewer's eyes but really, in this instance the 'proper' matt paints Lamborghini have used recently would manage to glow somehow, even in a low light like that even when photographed with a phone camera...

Perhaps the 'wrap' culture might be finding a limit that it can't cross or improve on when it tries to replicate the original ideas of others?

Perhaps it's much the same problem that kit cars have as seen in that simple maxim: 'nothing can be as original as an original'

...good effort in taking that pic Graeme. Technology is great when it actually does what you want it to do, as you've shown here!

Personally I love the look of matt black cars like this, agreed only some cars can pull it off but i think one like this does it well as it has a very aggressive look.

Its not really a good pic of it, and the Murci isn't exactly a good looking car from behind either IMO. I like matt black though!

I have a Murci and was seriously considering having this done. That is until I saw this car (in the flesh)...it really put me off. It seems to work on other cars, but just not on the Murci...

I saw one of the matt black LP 640's in London recently and thought it looked very well done and suited the car. It does look a bit odd on the regular murcielago posted above though.

Won't be long now till the trend is over.

My apologies to the owner but that looks absolutely appalling. The cheapest, nastiest way to finish off a car.
Sorry.
