Quick question, When the engine is hot, and you are at idle, where should the oil pressure indicator be? It may be just i'm paying it more attention but I think its dropped. It now sits just above zero (approx 15)and when revved goes to just under 70 (midway)

I think it used to sit at about 30 and went above the 70 mark when revved..... Any thoughts by owners??

Cheers

That sounds about right to me - Its one of those things that you you don't pay massive attention to but when you do you worry that something is wrong.

Any doubts - Ring a good Specialist.

Check your oil level.
Plus, as the oil gets older, its loses some viscosity so won't show quite as high a reading.

Mine usually sits around about the 1/4 mark, drops a little lower at idle, goes a little higher a high revs.

Cheers for the comments. Think I am being paranoid. Had full service in March with belt change and checked oils this morning and still above halfway with no evidence of leaks on the the floor.

Always nice to have your mind reassuredsmile

The sender units tend to become a little inaccurate with age and often read a touch low.
Al's (Burriana's) gauge reads a bit lower than the actual oil pressure when measured with a calibrated gauge. The sender sits in the middle of the 'V' and get pretty hot!
Listen carefully when fully hot and idling. There should be no noticeable tapping or knocking from the sump. These engines pump a lot of oil round. It is an important coolant too. If there was a problem, you'd hear it!
