I loved the yellow press car, but this is simply stunning on different level!

At least the pic above shows that Lambo's are now officially suitable for all balding men out there
lolLamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni
and the gentleman with the car is a friend of mine (and I suspect many other folks here as well) called Valentino Balboni.
Valentino has been a faithful and skilled servant of Automobili Lamborghini for over 40 years and has driven every type of Lamborghini built in that time and from the few years before he was part of the Sant'Agata family - hence the mobile monument that's been created in his honour.
...but then you knew that much surely?
Imagine reaching 59 years of age and having the temerity to begin balding... Still, betcha VB can still outdrive the vast majority of the clearly very 'knowledgeable' posters here on PistonHeads and that he has driven rather more thousands of kilometers in Lamborghini cars since 1968 than errr, most of us have eaten a decent meal...

... and that stripe style/format is intended to give an impression of (Italian?) racing stripes from the sixties and seventies, I think.
On a 'not-too-sure' front, I think that the verde ithaca (if that's what it is) looks quite weak here more like a flatter green whereas the black car shown with the same striping colours is testicoli del cane ...

On topic, I think that color is stunning! A big dream to own such an outrageously coloured Lamborghini!

... wot me, patronising and touchy?
... please check the spinning smilie for all my posts regarding the image of VB with that (most probably) Verde Ithaca 550-2.
VB may (or may not) recall the deal we made in 2001 at Spa during one of the GTR race weekends. I don't ask him for autographs or generally pester him for anything like passenger rides, (I know how good a driver he is and how good the cars are as well), and instead get to be a 'point of some refuge' for him when he's being besieged by people with requests and questions ranging from the deeply profound to the frankly idiotic, if we're in the same place, which is rarely, obviously.
We've had a few 'crucial but quiet meetings' over the years. I got to order a pot of tea and biscuits one day for him and Ubaldo Sgarzi and on another was able to suggest the lighter breakfast options on a Sunday morning at one of LCUK's weekends when he was (perhaps) a little the worse for the Saturday night sherbets.
I also got a head-swelling moment in 2003 when, whilst walking down a fairly busy stairway in one of West Sussex's better hotels, a voice shouted up the stairs to me, "ciao David!" and I looked and saw VB smiling and waving. At me, che non è nessuno.
His 'official' attitude to the 550-2 is to state that he feels it's a great honour for him. His reply to my point that it's Automobili Lamborghini who should feel honoured by his many decades of service brought only a very quiet "no, no"...
...and this sequence of PH replies may be an extension of that sort of thing, maybe.

Lucky enough to have driven the LP550-2 Valentio Balboni today around Milbrook.
It's awesome!
Steering is perrfect - alive, without the noise from a front diff. Manual gearbox was awesome - nothing like a Lamborghini manual gearbox of old. Lots of mechanical grip, excellent primary and secondary ride. And a great noise to boot.
I've got to have one!

Glad you liked it Anjum. It is a very nice car to drive and very different to the LP560-4. I was the instructor in the SV.It's awesome!

Would it be fair to say that you don't have a huge amount going on with your life, aside from cars...... please check the spinning smilie for all my posts regarding the image of VB with that (most probably) Verde Ithaca 550-2.
