seriously looking at one with F1 box. Can it really be used everyday and will the running costs be astronomical? will it be reliable? I remember that evo ran one a few years ago, and that the running expenses were diabolical!

Apparently 550's are better, unless you get the 575 with the GTC handling pack! Something you may want to look into when buying.

Got to say, fantastic cars though. The torque is immense!

for me the F1 is a must - hence 575.

Fair do's, but in that case make sure you get the GTC handling pack then if it has to be an F1 575.

I think Evo ran a 550 didn't they? anyway they seem to be pretty robust with no regular failure points, F1 box is fantastic, not sure of running costs as an everyday car, obviously it's not going to be cheap but regular 12k/ annual shouldn't be more than around £900 at main dealer, belts every 3 Years are another £600 or so. Clutch is not cheap but lasts well, my Car was on I think 19k Miles and 32% worn. Fiorano Handling Pack strongly recommended

From reading the EVO article and my own experience I would say it will cost circa £1 per mile to run - the total servicing and tyre costs on my car from new are just over £32,500 and the car has now covered just over 33,000 miles.
The upside is that if you buy well depreciation might be close to zero

Ive got a non FHP 575 F1 and I Love it, I dont really notice the lack of the HP on day to day driving. On a track though it might eb a different issue. in fact - due to new baby arriving mine is going to be for sale. biggrin

I think 575's from a certain date had the suspension changes that the FHP pack added to the earlier model! So if purchasing a later car maybe you don't have to get it with FHP just a thought.

I really wish these 550 and 575 threads would stop popping up. I really really really don't want one. I think they look incredibly naff, only two seats, sluggish performance, drink juice like it is going out of fashion, handle like a shed on wheels (or was that the S3). I really really really wanted to buy a very sensible luxurious Bentley S3. But I have a really bad itch that I need to scratch. I have been to see the doctor several times now and apparently there is no lotion available that can help my predicament. Even the missus said forget buying a humpy old piece of crap (which is a little unfair) go buy a maranello. OK OK OK. Egham have nero daytona metallic with crema at £69850. What do you reckon I could buy it for ?. Please help it costs me £50 a time to go see the doctor wink
