Thought I’d give you all ‘closure’ on the green scourer vs Gallardo saga.
Got it detailed (Valet Magic in Ascot) and it now looks brand new.

If I had known what the results were going to look like, I would have got it done regardless of the self harm I conducted on it!
The car is now scratch free and looks (and feels) brand new. Very pleased indeed....

As I promised, here is a ‘before’ and ‘after’ of the worst (deep) scratch – gone! I think the detailer may add more pictures of the process later.

When I picked it up the next car in-line to be detailed was a car that was owned by Theirre Henry (a small engined 6.2litre Cadillac SUV) – although he ('apparently') didn’t use scouring brushes to get rid of his bonnet bugs.....

Glad you managed to get it sorted and there was no lasting damage! Would have been very apparent on a black car!

Missed your car by a couple of hours, I went to see Robbie and he told me the toil your car had put him through, I would like to have seen the results. Glad you got it sorted, guess you're not buying any more scourers.

It has been a great topic. I was wondering if you could try the effects of an orbital sander or a cheese grater next....just to see what carnage ensues. But in fairness we have all taken drink before and aren't these detailers good! Cheers.thumbup

Thanks. Got a lot of stick for this post - but would rather share these rather dumb-a*s experiences in full gaze of the public, hear peoples thoughts, queries, etc and then everyone can learn from my errors. Im sure there will be many more along the way...

Hi, the link above goes through the detailing in ..er...detail! Lots of pictures and write up what products he used for each stage etc- might well be useful for others to read.

Thanks Robbie - seeing these pictures; its a bit like seeing your ex-wife out with another guy, painful it first, but he's given her more care and attention.

The write up says that it took 3 days.
If it's not a rude question, can you tell us how much that cost?

Hi, sure - hope valet-magic wont mind - to say there was not much change from £1K, although I know his prices start at c.£3-400 i think depending on what you want done.

Just to add that lordbluf's car received near on a signature detail minus a few bits hence the price.
