I'm fast wearing out the three that came with the car (Michelins) and wonder what is recommended to go on next - I've most commonly seen Pirelli P-Zero on these cars... Is this the way to go?

Thanks

Hate Pzero rosso's. Horrible in the wet, high wear rate, and only averaghe grip in the dry.

Not a 550 regrettably! Hated them on my TVR Tuscan and Audi A6 Quattro

Bridgestone RE050A are the only homologated tyre choice left so run those. Make sure you get the non Porsche fitment, ie not N0 for the rear - they are available, even though the N0 has the same BZ mould stamped on them:

• Front - RE050A 255/40 R18 95Y – IPC: 78523 mould version DZ
• Rear – RE050A 295/35 R18 99Y – IPC: 78524 mould version BZ

It is probably worth a look at the EVO site as the chap on there ran a 550 for many miles and put on Michelin and Pirelli tyres

I have had both on and whilst I think the Pirellis are slightly better they don't last long at all compared with the Michelins.
