Seriously impressive install...
Discussion
Have just had a Parrott MKi9000 kit installed in my 550 by the guy that does a lot of specialist cars near Nottingham. The install is amazing... He's fitted the controller (phone & iPod/.mp3 player/USB stick) into the ashtray (I took out the plastic tray- just pulls out - and kept the lighter for plugging things into) so when it is closed you can't see it. The iPod connector / jack plug / USB input is in the glovebox with a ridiculously neat install.
Finally the microphones are undetectable unless you try and look (they are mounted behind the Reading light cluster).
I'll try and post a pic later, but I am gobsmacked, especially as I was cr@pping it that he would damage the car in some small way.
So I drove back from a meeting to take a call from my wife (great quality) and streaming music into the Becker headunit from my iPhone via Bluetooth - awesome!

Really good - arguably not as good as with CD when really loud, but only because iPod creates it's own bass and treble volumes which means your head unit settings need adjusting.
Slightly worse if you use 3.5mm jack plug ans I haven't tried the USB thing yet
all in all am very happy
The USB thing should be as good as CD if the tracks on the iPod are lossless and you can turn off all the iPod EQ settings I believe.Slightly worse if you use 3.5mm jack plug ans I haven't tried the USB thing yet
