what to get for 40k?
Discussion
I am at the point of buying my first ferrari, want one to do around 8k miles a year, it will be a second car.like to do a couple of track days with it
from a buying using and selling point of view should i go for a 355, 360 or a testarrossa (Little depreciation but high running costs?) they all appeal to me, would think the 360 best but at my price range it will be bottom end?
would appreciate feedback from owners

I'm very biased but do agree with dino550, if your gonna do 8k/year forget the tr
If your doing a few miles in it a 360 or a 550 be the thing to have & @ the £40K mark wont lose if you buy the right car.
Id go & drive one of each before you buy, just go & look @ loads of different examples, you will konw when you see the car for you
I've always wanted a tr, but from what ive heard they a bit of a pill to drive, so rather than shatter my childhood dream, id rather not have one

getting messages from people selling cars!!!!, but still like feedback from owners NOT selling to get unbiased opinions.
Would 10k keep a testarrossa on the road for a year- maintenance?
Testarossa would cost roughly the same as a 550 or maybe a little more to run. They're not cheap to run but they're not a horror story. The expensive part is the 3 year engine out cambelt change but a few (DK Eng & Verdi i think) will do it as a fixed price service. Have a look at their website but I think DK charge less to service the TR than the 550.getting messages from people selling cars!!!!, but still like feedback from owners NOT selling to get unbiased opinions.

I would say it all depends on the mileage you're planning. If it's for sunny weekends, get a TR, but if you're going to be using it a lot you can't go wrong with a 355.

This man speaks sense! Always better to buy a good example of a cheaper car, than a poor example of a more expensive car IMO!
