Lamborghini Diablo.

Does anyone know anything about this Lamborghini Diablo ?

I have spoken to the seller and it was a cat C insurance claim early in the cars life apparently. No service history up until Aug '07 when there's an engine rebuild by Torque Developments International (?) at a cost of £ 26k. 41k miles and the previous owner was Paul Hellas.
Any thoughts/history would be appreciated.
It seems a bit expensive to me given its history (or lack of it!) as Top Gear have a sorted '91 model with 18k miles for £46k.

IMO, this is overpriced for what it is. That said, I am not quite sure how you would value this car.
Diablo's are not easy cars to sell, so one that is a CAT C, has had a colour change, an engine rebuild etc, will only make the task more difficult when the time comes to sell. I would go for one like the Red car at Top Gear.
Good luck.

It does sound like a lot for a crashed car...
It might even be a respray in yellow, as I believe the red piping on the seats were used to match the red (Rosso Diablo) paint (like on my car).
40K is too much in this case, although a complete engine rebuild is valuable to have...
Correct Simon, it has been resprayed, it was originally red.It might even be a respray in yellow, as I believe the red piping on the seats were used to match the red (Rosso Diablo) paint (like on my car).

IIRC the car was for sale at the same dealer for the same price (with the same photos) about 18 months ago.
I was looking to trade up at the time, but put the cash into a new house – Doh!!
At the time there was a link posted up to a thread (not PH) which fully detailed the engine rebuild.
It does seem expensive for a ‘C’, bearing in mind the difference between the lesser cat ‘D’.
I guess a full engine rebuild would go some way to mitigate the lack of SH. But a lack of SH always rings alarm bells for me, as many supercars without full SH have had a visit from the mileage fairies.
Good Luck
