Don't know anything about it personally, but if everything is straight and the car is is in good condition, it seems to be a very good price.

Malaysian import from what i beleive you also need to have a chat to the last two garages that looked after it. Hollingsworth I think one of them is.

That would explain the price, thought it seemed cheap.

Would there be anything extra to look out for with this car? Other than the fact the speedo will be in Kms?

If it has a full history and/or has had all the important bits done recently, and has the paperwork to back it all up with, could it be a bit of a bargain?

IMO - no, most won't want an import even if the car is perfect and if you were to purchase one, you will have to be prepared to have your pants pulled down on re-sale so there needs to be a noticeable difference in price, this car would be a good price if UK supplied but as a Malaysian import (assuming that actually is the case of course) I think it needs to be a fair few £k cheaper.

Personally don't see how an imported Ferrari matters, especially one out of warranty. If its a car with service history and bills, then why should it matter?
Its not like its a run of the mill commonal garden type Jap ricer or anything. An exotic travels well IMO. Being originally designated to another country would make no difference to me. There are enough LHD cars in the UK that were originally sold in other parts of the world. Although now the Europeans are buying them back;) The Australians have RHD Ferraris imported from the likes of Japan dont they.
The only personal experience i have had buying a vehicle originally sold in another country was an MV Agusta F4. Mine was sold new in Japan and i had it 6 months later (18 months ago) still under manufacturers warranty, did not make any difference to the value of the bike what so ever.

It's a RHD Rest Of World spec car (so the same basic spec as any UK delivered Ferrari F355GTB) it's now been registered in the UK (so has the relevant paperwork) it's got history and somebody knows who you need to speak to at the place it was last serviced.

As long as a PPI doesnt turn up any nasty suprises and the service history checks out, theres nothing that would so far put me off it.

Yeah it was an import from Malaysia in around 1999. I've seen the car and it seems ok but i'm organising an inspection to be sure. Will let you know how i get on. If anyone else knows the history of this car please let me know, thanks.

AndrewW-G & ferrari spider - Both valid points and I agree it shouldn't make any odds but, I just think it clouds other people's judgement. In a similar way, most don't want a car that's not in it's original colour even if it's had a bare metal job done at Alsa, the car is just as good but it puts many off, hence it needing to be cheaper to encourage the deal.

Also, many of us trade these cars in on the next one and it will just be another reason for the dealer to beat the value down.

Just my thoughts - please don't flame me. boxedin
