Right I'm looking at buying a F430 spider and I've managed to narrow it down to 2 cars, but I seriously haven't a clue which one I want.

One of them is a black with beige manual.
This car is a good spec and has almost everything I want,

The other is a TDF blue with navy roof F1
This car has a great spec but is more expensive

Gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!madmadmadmadmad I just can't decide, part of me really wants the F1, but then part of me wants the manual. The manual car has the carbon fibre interior which I much prefer, where as the blue car doesn't.

Any advice or opinions?

Firstly: Drive both and decide whether you want a manual or an F1, they're probably very different to drive!

Secondly: Look for a car which has the spec you want, don't rush your decision, you'll only regret it later biggrin

Good luck!!

Well the F1 spider will hold its money better that the Manual Coupe, the carbon fibre can always be retro-fitted later, kits come up now and again, I have supplied and fitted two kits for clients.

Let overall condition of each vehicle be a large factor, the last thing you want is going for the 'heart' option and being heart broken because it is a 'hanger'. If they are both in good condition, and you can stomach the extra cost of the Spider, I say go for it!

Whatever one you choose, enjoy in good health

I probably should have pointed out both cars were spiders.

Thanks

As Aybee said drive both and see which you prefer as they are very different to drive.

I'm fortunate enough to drive these daily and personally hate driving the manual cars, they just feel slow and clumsy in comparison to the F1.

Whichever you decide to go with, enjoy! they are fantastic cars.

Am I missing something here! Both cars the OP is looking at are SPIDERS. So the comment regarding residuals is about F1 vs manual NOT about Spiders vs Coupes! As the 458 is auto only perhaps the manuals will hold their value more. Anyway pretty acedemic as residuals is nothing compared to the choice of the right vehicle for you. As was stated; drive both and choose.Good luck with your "project".

When I was looking I had similar dilemas. Eventually I decided on a F1 coupe.

Then the 'right' car came along with a manual gearbox. I'm SO pleased I bought the manual now, but I think whichever one you pick you'll just love it!

....and forget residuals. If you're in a position to get one of these cars you're financially comfortable. If you're worried about cost buy an ISA instead.
