Thinking of swapping my GranTurismo S for a Balboni, do you think it could live with near everyday use and big milages, or is it designed to simply be stuck in a garage, and driven in the summer to the pub?

Has anybody on here got one indeed, any info I should know?

If properly cared for and used Gallardos can rack up big miles - it's just that some people think they're better value if practically unused, the poor benighted fools that they are...

By extension, a Gallardo LP550-2 would be no more of a liability to own and use than any other Gallardo or indeed practically any other car on the road...

Obviously, your biggest problem when owning one would be knowing that at least one 'observer' will want you to simply give him your VB to use as soon as you buy it ...

Do it - won't be cheap, but they can certainly take the use.

I've a few Customers doing over 20K per year in Gallardos and their cars seem happier for it.

Post 09 MY cars (i.e. LP560 onwards) are so well made they're pretty bombproof, and you'd be happy (comfortable) using one every day. Other than depreciation (admittedly juicy regardless of mileage - show me a new car that isn't) your need to factor in £3.5K in servicing over 15K miles.

Last Balbonis into the UK are in Feb next year, that's the 250 run done then. PM / call me if you want to discuss further.

Is that £3.5k service just the bare minimum, I would clearly want the car kept in absolute pristine condition, so would this mean sending it back over to Italy, or just having it serviced here more regularly?

1k for the minor service at 7.5k
2.5k for the interim at 15k

you'll also need almost as much again for tyres and brakes
