Got the strad out of the garage, hadn't driven it for about a month......engine just about started - phew. Moved her about 10 feet forward, back into neutral and then waited 20mins to warm her up, then reversed back into the garage......what pansylaughcouldn't be fagged to take the car out onto the salt!

Anyone else have their fingers crossed when starting the car? (not having driven it for at least a month of course!) Its been so cold, so expected a fight with the bugger

Since I've put battery conditioners on all our cars I've never had a problem. The Noble runs a bit lumpy for a minute sometimes, but it started first time after 6 months sat doing nothing a while back.

The GT just starts and runs as if it were started the day before. Nice to remind the neighbours what they sound like every so often smile

I think that's worse for it than just leaving it in the garage on a charger mukka...

Once you've started it up, far better to drive it for a decent run.

Started my 360 today after 10 days. Bloody engine check light stays on now! Engine runs fine but I think I'll give techies a phone tomorrow. Bloody cold weather!

Andy - the salt gets in the pistons on the brake calipers - fortunately mine are fine, but some I know are fkd!

I'm no expert but always thought that warming a car up whilst its stationary and not driving it was bad as the engine warms up but the gearbox doesn't and this can make the seals between the two dry out..??

Happy to revert to someone more mechanically minded though!!

I started mine the other night, three weeks since last driven and it's currently not on a battery conditioner. I was impressed it started first time. There was too much snow for me to risk taking it out - at that time about 8" so I just left it where it was. I've probably just flattened the battery even more smile

yikes!

I can't ever imagine not driving a Ferari I owned for a whole month unless it was snowy/icy the whole time or it was somewhere else being repaired! biggrin

The TR normally has an issue after 6 weeks of doing nothing, but at the moment she is a daily driver in the snow/ice/rain/whatever is thrown at her

Dream car.

The Testarossa at Sparks cars looks absolutely stunning in the window - so low and wide!

They are fab cars, really coming into their own now.

Very nice, but £75k? I don't think so. I know of one with less mileage and less money.

It would seem that most of their prices are best described as "optimistic"

To be honest, I'd want one with more miles on it, it's not good for an engine to just sit even if it is still serviced!

Left my Diablo out in the drive the other night, came back at 4am to find it buried under 3 inches so i now had a white Diablo. Today I cleaned the snow from the engine vents, wiped the windows today (still 3 inches) and took her out, roads where i am are mainly compacted snow, VT system so driving on fresh snow is easy.

Wouldnt trust a 2WD though and as for the salt, stuff the salt and get out there!

I love winter driving!!
