I'm keen to buy myself a 360 Spider - had 3 Ferraris before ( 360/360 Spider/355) always in traditional red - however seen this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1426434.htm in yellow and think it looks pretty good. Has everything else I want i.e manual/sports seats
Much as I'm keen to buy a car I'll enjoy I always have an eye on - "designing the way out, before the way in " - so with this in mind - Is yellow a popular ferrari colour amongst the Ferrari enthusiasts who "inhabit" this forum ?

As a contradiction to the above I have a couple of classic Porsches 911 & 356 - both in ( yes you've guessed it ) Yellow !

All opinions welcome

Wouldn't buy a yellow car myself but I do like them. I think I'm inclined not to because you resale market is even smaller. Mind you if you intend keeping it for a while it's not a problem I suppose.

Colour is important... yellow is a gorgeous colour, and that is a beautiful looking car and I cannot see why you would have any doubts. thumbup

Funny - I can't recall mentioning "resale values" in my original post - just asked what people thought of yellow ! - appreciate your comments - I've had a (high) number of cars and never really been that concerned over re-sale values just interested to know that there is some sort of market for a car in this colour - and yes I think you're right - it looks great !

So what did you mean by "designing the way out, before the way in "? Re-sale was my understanding of that statement.

There's always "a way out" - just depends at what price ie resale value !!

Yellow is worth less than red - pay less get less when you sell.

IMO I think colours on Ferrari's are becoming less important.

Another option is buy red - wrap it too your colour - dewrap - sell.

Red is more popular than yellow.

Negative:
When its time to sell more people will be looking for red ones so your market will be smaller.

Positive: Less yellow cars means that if somebody is looking for one in that colour they are more likely to look at yours as there will be less to choose from.

Swings and roundabouts. Get a yellow one if that is what you like!

If I was in the market for a 360 Spyder then this would be the one I would buy. Neil, the ex owner, treated this car beautifully and it always was fantasically maintained. He px-ed it for a proper Ferrari mind you wink

Buy the car for yourself and not the next owner. Who gives a damn about colour if thats what YOU want.

Yellow Ferrari Owner.

It's a Yellow Manual 360 Spider with the rear challenge grill and by the looks of things has been looked after very well. If I was looking for a 360 I would have already bought it.

Thanks Peter - certainly seems from the service history that your friend looked after it well. Out of interest What's the "proper" Ferrari he traded it for ?

Breathtakingly gorgeous car and even better in the flesh. I was very jealous and chuffed for Neil when he bought it.

Neil used to have CS wheels and a number of other goodies on the car, but he kept those and the boys at Autofficina have got it back to standard. Neil is selling some of those parts here;

How does Tour De France blue compare in the Ferrari market? It's my favourite colour for a Ferrari, just wondered what people thought of it?

And isn't Giallo Modena the original Ferrari colour?
