I have just noticed that some of the paint or enamel has come off my cars engine. Is there a way to re-paint/enamel it?
Also what would cause this to happen? and is it likely to cause any harm not having it there? I know it's only a small area that is effected, but I am worried it will get worse. And also it really bugs me now that I know it's there.

Thanks!

i'd be much more concerned about that little red thing
it's quite difficult to be certain, but is it something a mechanic's accidentally left in there ? biggrin

Haha, When I saw you had responded, I wondered what you might have to say Andrew.

Next time the car goes in for service work, get it recoated, shouldnt cost a great deal (less than £100)

Doesnt matter if you've got a Ferrari, Lamborghini or a Maserat, the pretty crackle finish engine paint always flakes off in the end smile

The cars just come back from having a service, new clutch, and some paint work at LHW, I wish I had noticed it before it had gone to them!

Thats reassuring to know that it's common and I am probably not the only one with this problem. I still want to get it redone though. Little things like that bug me until they are sorted out.

alternatively sell it and buy a Spyder. That way you don't get to see the engine!!

You could get a carbon fibre version to replace it. I really fancy one but i'm guessing they are pretty expensive and only cosmetic.

That does look nice, but I am too poor to even attempt to find out how much that costs!
